Art Quick Photoshop Question

    I didn't know where else to put this...i suppose it could have gone in Art/Design...:rolleyes: but on Photoshop (i have Elements, but the principles must be the same...) and is there any way to do a sort of fur effect? Sorry if i have gone and puut this in the wrong place...:sweat: Anyhelp would be appreciated:D

    probably belongs in the art forum. There are ways to cg fur manually, but the easist way is to scan in a sample. use the lining on a jacket or convice your cat to sit on your scanner^^.
    then you hit ctrl A, and 'define as pattern'. you can then paste this as your fur texture. Then just use the dodge and burn tool to add shadows and highlights as you normally would.
    it's best to get a consistent sample first though.;)

    Also, another way to get the fur effect is to find (or make) custom brushes for fur. You can find lots of brushes at www.deviantart.com in the Resources > Photoshop Brushes section (links down the left-hand side). With these, you lay down your base color, then get another color for fur and use the brush to streak fur lines across the base color. Use dodge, burn, smudge, soften, etc. to touch-up once you've done this. ^_^

    There's also a plugin called Eye Candy 2k that has a Fur tool.
