I used to read his books as well as Chistopher pikes. I've always been a horror fan.

Oi, when I was a kid, I loved Stine and all his work. I mean, he's a bestselling author for a reason. Of course, he's also a total hack who was always more than willing to release several books in a single year. How much effort do you think he could have put into writing something that came out so quickly after his previous?
Although, the best thing about R.L. Stine is that his work encourages today's youth to read (geez, I sound like some kind of government ad ...). Seriously, I would never have gotten into literature without pulp like the Goosebumps series to get me started.

ever heard of Point Horror? R.L.Stine used to, or maybe still does write for those series. I remember stories such as The Snowman, The Beach Party and Hit and Run... They were awesome.

To put it frankly; there are much more talented authors.

I think I read like one or two RL Stine books in my time. :p Was never really interested in his stuff, heh. I did more writing than reading in my younger days and I was more into the larger, novel-type books (I used to read a lot of Michael Crichton (I know I butchered that name) and Stephen King).

I loved those! I have a VERY overactive imagination, so they did a lot from me. Some of them just made me really really sad, others made me afraid to look in my closet at night. R.L. Stine's Welcome to Dead House was the reason at one point in my life I was afraid to walk past a closet alone. Seriously.
