Manga Ragnarok

i just got it a few days ago. it's ok, what do you think?

I heard about the game a few years ago too. Then my brother told me last year that there's a manga (manhwa actually) about it. He bought some, and I read the first two issues. It's pretty good I guess. It's been over half a year since I read it! I can't even remember the characters' names.

 

It's a great manga, lots of norse mythology things.

Hence: Ragnarök

Since I live in sweden, and know the all basics of norse mythology, I find the manga very intresting

My sister bought this a few months ago. I thought it was kind of, well, <blech!>. The art style was cool, but the plot and characters were garbage not fit to be keel-hauled.

They may just seem a little hard to grasp because you're not used to them. If you grew up on names like "Zeus", "Ares" and "Aphrodite", it can be a bit of culture shock to change mythology bases suddenly. Try jumping into Aztec mythology, where you're kicked in the face by names like Quetzacoatl.

 

Seraphim, I am guessing no. I have the first 2 issues of Ragnarok. Ragnarok is about a people doing stuff, not a good explaination, but basically, guy kills monsters, girl follows, girl searches for some guy, guy with evil sowrd kills everybody, evil girl kills everybody, and that about it for now, hahahaha, what a crappy explaination, I am sorry.

 

I read the first 4 books and i can't wait until i get the other 6 books

 

I read the first too books as well, it seems pretty cool. My friend went to Korea and got the whole series, for about 2 bucks each. He let me borrow them...problem is I can't read Korean..ahaha...lame..


P.S. if anyone knows where I can get a text translation(not a scanlation)
of the series I would apreciate it very much... :anime:

 

Ragnarok is a great manhwa, i have them up to volume 9 now.

The art only improves over time, and so do character designs.
Such as Skurai, in the first volumes, he's a crossbreed of Sephiroth and Marlyn Manson (come on, the hair, the suit, and in volume 1, the sword was almost identical in size and shape XD). Though, later on, he looks like a crossbreed of Enichi (Rurouni Kenshin) and Marlyn Manson...

I'm stuck with such a cliffhanger at this point... Need more Ragnarok :anger2:

The only complaint I do have is the past romance between Fenris Fenrir and Chaos, or respectivly Fenrir and Baldur. In the past when they still were gods, Fenrir and Baldur were lovers in this comic, but in Norse mythology, there was no such thing.
Fenrir was a monsterous wolf-god, son of Loki, and no sources appear to show Fenrir having romance with Baldur...

Well that's my little rant. Oh, and I like how Chaos isn't really being portrayed as undefeatable or something. He only lives because Loki's with him XD

 

Not exactly manga but Ragnarok the animation is currently airing in Japan with 2 episodes avaliable on bittorrent.

I think rags all right i have the first four volumes and so far so good. I decided to buy them after playing the mmorpg so i was mighty surprised to see it locally.

But i like the massive range of good and bad guys.

But ye i do like skurii he does the psychopath look justice (btw he does look like sephiroth lol)

And on the good guy scene yep chaos is a good character the responcible hero etc etc but i find it follows the traits of all fantasy books in general theres even dragons in it.

I don't know a lot about norse mythology though so maybe i should look into it hmmm ... ...
