Please spend some time to actually look up the lyrics. The English version of Du Hast is NOT the translation of the German version, and if that's what you're basing your claims on, you're dead wrong.

Yes, this is correct. It is what I was pointing out earlier, when afterwards I was not seen for a good month and missed all the good arguments.

 

Not because it sounds better, but because it sounds like it.
I love Rammstein, and I must confess, "Mutter" is my favourite album I can listen for hours. Each song is awesome.

Yeah, that's correct. Hast and Hasst are also pronounced basically the same, so it's a bit of a pun in a way.

du (you- actually thou heh)
du has(s)t (you hate/have: could have either meaning here. Based on how it sounds of course, when written, it's one or the other)
du has(s)t mich (you hate me/you have me. 'You have me' is a perfectly good sentance, but how often do you hear it? 'You hate me' is the more likely. Again, based on the sound)
From du to du hast mich it sounds like he's saying you hate me. adding gefragt(asked) changes it then, suddenly it's something different.

In that sense, it wasn't really "changed" in english, they just had to pick one of the words since in english they don't sound the same. The original is always better.

That said, they're a bit over the top. Any band that pisses on each other on stage heh

engel has something to do with angels, one of the lines is something like "god dammit i dont want to be an angel" or "god dont make me an angel" something like that

 

Well, the line means "God knows I don't want to be an angel."

Sorry, I'm kinda type-A when it comes to translations. They must be right... (stupid OCD)


And Rammstein means something along the lines of "collision."
