Television Reality Shows.

Do you think reality TV shows are getting better? Or do you think they are getting worse?

 

I personally despise reality shows. Road Rules, Real world, pretty much anything MTV will show I hate. There are a few that are mildly entertaining on a few other shows, but otherwise, yuck.
I think, even though they're already bad, they're getting MUCH worse.

 

There's no choice for "They've always been crap." That would be my choice, but, since it's not there, I went with "they're getting worse."

Because they certainly aren't getting better, and I wish they'd stop airing them. Who in their right mind enjoys shows like that?

 

I think the shows are getting better, but I have to say there are a few really dumb ones.
We are basing are year book at school around reality shows and we all got shirts with some names of shows on the back mine says Un-"Simple Life."
The year book page I am doing is Fear Factor and I am writing something about Caf. food. Wow how off topic can I get?
Yeah, I do think the shows are getting better from what I have seen, but I again have to say some of the bad shows kinnda downcast all the others.

 

Actually, I think they're getting worse. They're.. unentertaining and just boring, repetitive and idiotic. The only "reality show" that I even remember remotely liking was "Fear", on MTV.

S'about it. Everything else sucks.

 

I guess we should be glad that the "Reality" "Genre" hasn't moved to anime except in fanfiction, like "Survivor, Terra 2" by a certain turnip-head we all know.

 

I was never a fan of the whole "reality TV" thing, since y'know, none of the shows are really "reality". I think that they're getting much, much worse. It pains me to hear about all these shows...Imagine a crossover? *shudders*

 

I agree that they're getting worse. Switching housewives??? Come on! The other woman's family is NONE OF HER BUISNESS. IT'S NOT HER FAMILY! People are so childish.

 

The aspect majorly associated with reality shows that irks me most is the mindset of "Now I get to be myself on national television and allow the world to view my reaction to multiple strategically placed scenarios!" Bull. I mean, come on, if these people aren't actually actors then their reactions are obviously going to be at least somewhat pseudo, especially if they're aware of a camera's constant presence.

The ones I *really* detest are the ones similar to "Paradise Hotel" and the like. Who on Earth wants to be seen making out, and frequently going further, on national television by their friends, family, and heck, maybe even instructors? I think it'd be pretty demeaning....

 

I was going to say that reality shows are only getting worse, but then i thought that there are actually a few interesting shows out there if you just look for them, and not on MTV cause as i've probably stated a few times before, they suck.
If producers put some thought into reality shows then they are likely to come up with a few good shows. I supposed another problem woth reality shows is that they run on for far longer then they really should (The Osbournes and Big Brother). Although i don't know if Big Brother counts as a reality show since they're locked up in the same house for weeks on end.
However it is still possable to find some reality shows that can spark your interest. I found one on BBC1 last week that seemed pretty good, it follows people who have a problem spending money and end up getting into a lot of debt, so they get there parents to live with them for a week to see if they can sort out their debts. I found it good, but even still i don't see the show going on for more then one series.
So basically as long as it's no t on MTV it's got a good chance of not being run into the ground with re-runs.

 

The only reality show i like is Last Comic Standing!!! it so god damn funny XD I have the bachlor ones! How god damn long have they been on!
