Anime Recommendations?

    Can anyone recommend me any anime series that are unlicensed and popular?

    There are many, of course. The ones i personally recommend are Mai HiME, Bleach and Beck, and possibly Air.

    There are also some new series currently airing in Japan worth looking out for, such as Speed Grapher and Iriya no Sora - UFO no Natsu. They havent progressed far yet.

    Other popular ones that Im not sure about the license status are Yakitate! Ja-pan and Nahou Sensei Negima, but I'm not too crazy about that last one but it's popular.

    These are ones that suit my taste (apart from Negima) but there a lot of others...

    (hopefully others can corrent me on any I mentioned that are definitely licensed.)

    It really depends on what you like, x4nth3r. But I agree for the most part with Rokuemon's suggestions. I'd go with the first 3 that were suggested for starters.

    I'd say go for Mahou Sensei Negima! There's barely any episodes out, but it makes a preety decent anime.

    Going with just unlicensed anime, try Xenosaga. It's got an amazing story, good animation, excellent music, in all aspects, it's top-quality.

    Just, when you download it, try to get the Anime-Kraze version. Their torrent tracker is down right now, but their version is the best quality. Avoid C1Anime's fansub like the plague.

    Azumanga Daioh is licensed by ADV films.

    But really, as Ciel said, it all depends on what you like :)

    Well, it may not just depend on what you like. If you havent seen many you might not know what you like yet. Thats how I was not long ago, and still now there are certain kinds of anime I dont really know if I will like them, so i ts good to ask for recomendations.

    x4nth3r did ask what was popular and prob wants to try these that there is a buzz about instead of just picking up something at random, as there are so many. its a pain 2 spend a loooong time dl something and it turns out to be realy pants. reviews can help sometimes, but not always.

    I keep thinking a special reviews forum under anime would be good here, where people could start a new thread for each anime they want 2 review and other people can chip in with their views as well on the same thread.
