Anime Robotech online game is being developed by the same people of Battlecry

This morning we reported that TDK had released the results of its third quarter ended December 31st 2002. This afternoon, following that report, came TDK’s conference call, a conference call that let loose more than a few noteworthy details. First and foremost was that console sales accounted for 62% of revenues, or $11.5 million, as opposed to $8 million during this time last year. The figures were largely attributed to sales of Robotech and Shrek. The sales percentages continued with TDK revealing that the hand held market accounted for 32% of revenues, or $5.9 million, as opposed to $6.7 million last year around this time.

Getting into console hardware and software, TDK briefly commented on the Game Boy Advance SP by stating that it believes the system will expand the market, won’t replace the current GBA, and has a “hip factor”. On the software side of things TDK revealed that He Man: Masters of the Universe is currently in development for next-generation consoles, and is slated to ship during Fall 2003 to coincide with Mattel’s plans for the brand. Meanwhile, Disney’s Haunted Mansion, based on the theme-park attraction and upcoming feature film, will be released on all platforms (including PC CD-ROM) during Halloween 2003; while Pirates of the Caribbean, a Jerry Bruckheimer film that will star Jonny Depp Geoffrey Rush, will be released on GBA SP during July 2003. Furthermore, in addition to the refining of the aforementioned titles above, TDK stated that a new Star Trek game, Star Trek: Shattered Universe will be released on both the Xbox and PlayStation 2 during late Summer/Fall 2003.

Dinotopia, currently in development at Vicious Cycle (developers of Robotech) is almost complete for next-generation consoles. Speaking of Robotech, TDK started throwing out surprises during the conference call, first by announcing that its currently developing an online Robotech title. TDK’s second surprise, while isn’t one that’s likely to sit well with those that don’t own Xbox, was that Mercedes-Benz World Racing is only slated for release in North America on Xbox. It seems that while TDK Europe has the game in the pipelines for multiple platforms (PC, PlayStation 2, GameCube), that TDK’s only signed the game on for Xbox in North America

now robotech.com announced that TDK will be making more than one Robotech videogame in the near future. The first one comes in 2004

Did they specify which systems that it will come out for? Did they say it will have a monthly fee? Or is the bold text all they said on the Robotech online game?

nope, I posted all the info I could find.. the only other thing I know is that the company which is making it called the guy who made the pics I posted in the "Robotech 3d designs" topic but he had to say no because he is already working in other proyect
