RPG Archives RPG H.A.M: In Game

On a day like no other, something strange happened to several people around the area. Scientist were expirementing on splicing human DNA with animals. The expirenment went horribly wrong and the toxinated chemicals that were involved with the expirement, exploded and affected several around the area.
Their bodies changed like no others could. They bacame known as H.A.M.s, or Human-animal mutants. There were seen as monsters and that they didn't belong anywhere on this world. They were captured and kept at a local observational vacility where they would be expirenmeted on. Now we look on it as the story unfolds....

A red fox layed on a table shile some scientist stapped her with needles. Yumitoko howled in pain. "Damn it..." she mumbled. Koji, the white tiger, was watching in a cell in his HAM form. He stared at the scientists in anger for hurting Yumi. She howled again. "DAMN IT!!! LET HER BE!!!" he screamed at them. "Yes...we can't find anything out of her at the moment...bring in the velocirapter. He must give us interesting information!" they said while throwing her in. She winced at the pain. Koji transformed into his animal form and sat next to Yumitoko while she licked her wounds clean.

Suddenly, Yumi changed into her HAM form. "You know...that REALLY hurts!" she yelled, but they didn't pay anyattention to her. "Don't mind them...they don't care." Koji said. Yumi stood up and tried to loosen the bars. "I WANT OUT!!! I'M SICK OF THIS!" she screamed while sobbing in tears.

 

Soya paced around his cell. This was the most BORING place he'd ever been to. He'd been in this cell for weeks, with nothing to do. They had even taken his pouches from him! Only one day was he allowed out of that cramped cell, only to find himself being poked like a pin cushion! Now they wouldn't even let him out.

"Gosh, all I did was try to get some fresh air!" Soya complained.

Soya's escape attempt was fresh in the minds of the guards in the facility. Soya was nimble as it is, but once transformed into his animal form, he was very difficult to catch. A few hours and many broken beakers later, they had caught him and stuffed him back in his cell. Soya had found himself with a new possession, a metal color which would shrink in size if he transformed into a Lemur and grow back out again when he returned to his normal state. The next time he tried to "get some fresh air", Soya found himself unable to move, the collar being a tranquilizer injector collar, which was used to keep some of the more "excitable" subjects under control.

Soya heard a loud howl come from down the hall. They must be testing on the fox again, Soya thought to himself, That poor girl must be in horrible pain! Soya looked around his cell, "There has got to be a way outta here." he whispered quietly to himself. After a few moments of frantically searching his cell, he slumped down in the corner.

"Oh, what's the use?" He asked to himself, on the brink of sobbing, "Even if I could get out, this blasted collar will keep me here forever!"

"I WANT OUT!!! I"M SICK OF THIS!" Soya heard come from one of the other cells.

Soya sighed, "You and me both, fox." And he returned to pacing around the cell.

 

David must have been out cold for hours. As he slowly drifted back into consciousness he heard the creak of wheels and could make out the alternating pattern of light and shadows. He was still in his cage and was being rolled down a hallway with flourescent lights. As the lights passed over his head they were blocked by the bars overhead and thus made the lights feel like they were turning on and off quickly.

David knew what had to be going on, they were probably rolling him into the lab to undergo "treatments" again. Which of course translated meant: painful experiments. David had taken to the "treatments" much better than his fellow H.A.M.s, as the scientists had come to call them. He had been at the center for a good deal longer than most of them, as he had been taken during the aftermath of the explosion rather than rounded up a few weeks later like most of his "cell-mates". Since he'd been there longer he was learning to endure the pain, plus the animal DNA he had been fortunate enough to splice with made his flesh much less sensitive to it.

They, whoever they were, rolled David into the lab where he caught sight of several other cages. He couldn't make out all of them but several were empty, one contained the tiger kid, and the other held the young fox; no pun intended of course. David could here varios coments and complaints from the the others but was more worried about the tazor rod that was leveled aat him. Apparantly they weren't taking any chances since none of them had ever dealt with a Velociraptor prior to David. Special cords had been attached to him for some time now and they held his arms and legs at a specific distance from one another. If David transformed into his animal form with them on he would likely dislocate both his arms and legs which would be more pain than it was worth. The collar didn't help either. David was marched out of his cage with a tazor rod not a foot away from his chest. The wielder of the tazor spouted some orders that david really didn't want to hear, "strip down freak". David felt the blood drain from his face, "I pray to God you're kidding". "I said strip down", barked the man with the rod. David began to clumsily take off his clothes with his cuffs still on. "Can I at least ask for a towel or something, there are young girls present." They didn't seem to notice his question. "Excuse me miss but could you please turn around in your cage, this is humiliating enough as it is." The girl seemed to be too concerned with her own treatments to worry whether or not David had any clothes on. David was then marched into a strange shower-like room where they unhooked his cuffs and locked him in. It was a strange transparent room, like something you'd expect a porn star to take a shower in. David wished they'd just shoot him and get it over with, he'd take dissection over exposure any day. "Let's see how much tougher the mutation really did make his skin", David heard them say over the intercom as the man with the rod and his two lackies stepped away from the shower stall. David said a quick prayer just as a searing hot liquid shot from practically every wall of the stall. David let out a scream that he didn't even know he was capable of. The liquid scorched his flesh and burned practically all the hair off of his body like acid. As David slumped to his knees in the stall with every nerve in his skin screaming he began to whisper some words of faith to himself..."Tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil..."

Sprawled in a cage much smaller than the others, nearly tucked into a corner, lay a fluffy white rabbit. Where in her H.A.M form, she had brown hair, in her animal form, the brown vanished into the silvery-white shade. But where others had the room to move, she had been given no such freedom, coming from her lack of interest in being in her half human form much.

She could hear the yelling from the other cages and the small pink nose twitched, a blue eye peeking open befure shutting once more. Aira had grown more and more shut off from the world around her, not even fighting when she was hauled from her cage.

Where others kicked or bit or tried to wiggle free, she just lay limp to the point a scientist could even just carry her rather than bring her in the cage or some other way. As though feeling self concious all at once, she slowly levered to her feet and made a careful shuffle closer to the back of the cage, curling up against the bars, long ears flopped down on her head. Part of the self conciousness had been hearing the male,(David) ask the other female to turn away when he was told to strip down. Ofcourse no one would notice the rabbit but she moved to turn her back on things and hide her head, eyes shut tight when she heard the scream from the shower near by.

A far gone difference from the white rabbit was the male in the cage further away. His cage wasn't as close to the showers so he could mostly block out the sounds. His cage lay closer to the pacing lemurs(Soya). Similar to the other boys, this male, Sergei also wore a collar of metal. Though his didn't really shift much with his forms since he didn't grow much bigger or smaller. Rather it only acted as a tranquilizer.

Their need was because, rather than getting free easily, the siberian tiger was a handful when he was angered and hard to control. He was almost shadow or ghost like when he was mad, twisting and snapping, the hands brushing his sides and not really able to grab.

At the time, he sat upright, one leg stretched, the other bent to his chest, arms around the bent leg, chin rested on his knee. The striped ears were perked, listening in silence, golden and green eyes nearly slitted.

It was just so wonderful, he'd gotten caught. He'd been searching for his lost cousin when this all happened. He'd never actually FOUND his cousin, seeing as how he was grabbed before he got very far. While they'd taken his staff and had locked it up somewhere, they hadn't searched Sergei enough to find other hidden items, such as a piece of jewlery that was special to him, nor the picture.

It was a much older picture of two young boys but it was the only one Sergei had been able to find in his mothers house with an image of a boy who should be his cousin. Rather than both names being written on the back, it only held Sergeis as though the other boy was forgotten.

Almost instinctivly he slid the photo out of his pocket of his black pants, the pocket being on the side of his stretched out leg and gazed at it for a moment before returning his grip around his leg, the photo, turn so that the photo lay face up, held between two fingers gently.

Being a loner as he was, he hadn't met any of the others, only heard about them. He'd heard of a white tiger, another tiger like himself and had seen the other a few times but they'd never spoken.

 

Kyle had been listening to all the noise going on though sometimes he felt he had to cover his ears just to get it to the level it used to be. He had been one of the other first H.A.M.'s to be taken for he was too weak to move after the explosion. When he had woken up he found himself as an arctic wolf in some cage. As if it was natural he had changed back into human form and, still a bit dizzy, looked around at his surroundings. He saw many cages, most were empty except one. Inside one looked to be a dinosaur, and as he sooner found out, a velociraptor. "So there were others", he thought. He looked around his cage and suddenly felt as if something was missing...and then it hit him. They had taken his sword, his fathers sword. He swore they would pay for this. Just then he saw the white dressed men come in with another one like him, who had short brown hair and a trenchcoat on. He later found out that this guy could become a falcon and the trenchcoat was to hide the wings on his back that seems to stay with him. They took what looked like a metal rod from him and put him in a cage. Now he, and Tobias as he found his name out, had become friends. They had been talking when they saw the white dressed men come in with the man who could become the velociraptor. They put him inside of a chamber and no sooner had they put him in then he started hearing screams from inside..... Kyle howled in sadness.

Tobias was still mad at himself for being caught so easily. He had been coming home from work when a gust of wind came through and blew his trenchcoat just about off. He quickly gathered it around him, but not before what was under had been exposed to 2 strange looking man. The last thing he remembered was a sharp pain in his arm. He had woken up here with others like him. He had soon figured that they had taken his staff and that they were getting out any imte soon. They had tied his wings together just in case. He had become friends with Kyle, who could transform himself into an arctic wolf. Themsleves, along with the other like him, usually spent about 5 hours, maybe more a week, being tested on and such and he was groing tired of it. He leaned over and whispered to Kyle, "We need to get out of here!"

Shizuki sat in the cell she had been thrown into by the people who caught her. Her back against the side she and her legs pulled up she started to get unconfertable.

how can you put me in a still little cell like this!! i need space damnit!

She yelled with a little growl in her voice. She sighed and then put her legs down and changed her form. There in her panther form she layed down, crossed her paws and put her head down. Right then she heard the screaming of another person who had been caught, her ears flicked up as she heard more voices.

i wonder how many are in here...ugh..why did i have to go an get caught..

she turned her head so she face the back of the cell and tried to figure how she could get out.

 

Ray sitting in his cell looking on how things seemed bleak was getting sick of hearing all the screaming from all around and when he heard his neighbor it destryoed his last nerve he got sick of hearing all of the complaining and decided to yell out some Frustration. AHHHH! Shut up all of you and suck it up!! All of you just complain about how things are. You should be glad that you got your lives still.

He looked at the fox that was just over the room from him while she was looking his direction when there eyes met he looked away and spit on the ground after this he stood up and just stared at the scientests and said in a voice where not only his the ham but said in such a voice that it got the attentoin of the scientests. "Come on. IM getting bored over here. I want to be tested next. Come on What you afraid of a Wolf. The scientests did nothing but glance but the lead scientest looked at Ray and glanced and said to Ray. "Fine your next after we're done with this rabit and don't worry well make sure your greatly examined.

Ray looked,and laughed and said,"You think you scare me huh come on do your worst you Punk." Ray the only one that loved more than anything then the taste of freedom had a plan. Ray couldn't wait till they opened that door he was going to make each of them suffer no matter what it took

Yumitoko stared at this man who asked the scientists to test him next. "You, young wolf...what's your name?" she asked. "My name is Ray." he answered back. She stood up in her H.A.M. form and smiled. "My name is Yumitoko." she said while smiling warmly at him. "You know...you're pretty cute for a wolf." Ray looked away. He was much more interested in what the scientists were doing.

Koji still sat on the floor and took something out of his pocket that seemed to be a picture. It happened to be a picture of someone who he has never met yet. On the back...said his name. His mother once told him that he would one day meet his cousin. She said his name was Sergei, but he has yet to meet him.

Yumitoko looked back at Koji. "Is something the matter, Koji" she asked. He quickly stuffed the torn picture back in his pocket and sighed and said,"Oh...it's nothing. Toko...just relax...no need to get angry." "What the heck!!! They captured us you idiot! What do you expect me to do...just sit around and do nothing!? No...I'm a girl of action...I'll do what is needed to do." she said angrily. She sat down opposite of him and was happening to try and plot a scheme. [mwuahahaha]

 

The white rabbit, barely moved from her spot, even as a scientist finally came along and lifted her cage, carrying her away. Blue eyes slitted, peering out at the cages she passed, watching the occupants silently, pink nose twitching.

She knew exactly what was going on, but she'd lost interest in fighting back. What could a rabbit do? She was too weak and small to do much damage other than bite or kick, something she'd tried and had ended with her getting a good whack to the head.

The scientist vanished through the doors, carrying the white rabbit, vanishing from view.

Sergei, looked around, barely noticing, much less hearing the chats around him. He dug his teeth into his lower lip, unsure. He didn't know the name of his cousin, much less if his cousin was one of these H.A.M's around him. None really resembled the picture, atleast of the ones within his view.

He shifted to sprawl, thinking carefully. He tried to retrace his memories, anything that his mother might have told him about his relatives. Anything other than just what his cousin looked like from the picture.

It came to him. He could remember, somewhere in a short time back, a chat with his mother, something about going to visit his cousin and uncle. Now...what was the cousins name?

All at once, Sergei sat up, snapping his fingers, voice soft even as he murmered to himself,"Thats it! Its Koji!"

Grinning faintly at the discovery of the name, he turned his gaze to the cages near by once more. Looking over the features of the group he could see, he finally turned to the male who'd started yelling at the scientists earlier(Ray),"Wolf. You wouldn't happen to know if theres someone here by the name of Koji would you? I'm looking for that person. I thought maybe he might be here."

The wolf's cage wasn't to far from Sergei's, but he didn't even try to lower his tone, trying to be sure he was heard over the voices and complaints from any other H.A.M's around them. Golden-green gaze watched the wolf carefully, gaze flickering toward the other cages as he waited for a reply.

 

Tumitoko and Kogi looked at the young tiger in the nearby cage. "Huh?" said Koji while standing up. "I'm wondering if anyone has heard of someone named Koji." said Sergei. "My name is Koji." he said in confusion. Then it came to him. He recognized his face...the long black hair...golden-hazel eyes...he knew who he was. "By the way...is your name Sergei?" he asked intently. "Yes...it is." he replied.

Koji felt somewhat between shock and awe. "My mother gave me a photograph fo rme so that it would help me find you one day...but I'm afraid that it's ripped. Once Koji had pulled out that photograph...Sergei had done the same. They put the torn pictures together and saw two friends laughing together.

Yumitoko was still interested in the young wolf. "Ray...how dare you ignore me!" she said. She pulled onto the collar of his trench coat, through the bars, pulling him closer to her. He was suddenly interested by this gesture. "I don't like it when guys ignore me...now please...introduce yourself...as I'm willing to do the same..." she said teasingly. Koji lowered his ears in disappointment.

In a cage in the far corner...was a young girl, named Yunmie. She prowled around in her cage with her light brown hair swaying along with her as she turned sharply. She was starving...she was now a lioness, so her cat instincts were now kicking in...and she wanted to hunt. She saw the young fox trying to flirt with the wolf. "How pathetic...she doesn't stop does she...she's always been like this," she murmered to herself.

In the cage next to her stood a girl, named Tellie. She was a nice girl...a bit on the hyper side. Her strawberry blonde hair seemed messy and tangled over her long bat wings. She walked forward and bumped her head on the wall. "OW! That hurt!!!" she dais. She happened to be blind...since she was mutated into a bat. She switched into bat from and hung from a fake branch the scientist had put in there,...and hung upside down and fell fast asleep.

 

Kira was cuffed and sedated. He stumbled along as he was dragged by his limp limbs. The guards threw him a cell with another one of the test subjects. "ugghhh"...Kira swayed side to side trying to see his cell mate...he opened his eyes surprised to see who it was..."R...Ray?" he couldn’t believe it...Ray had been captured too. Kira thought back to the first time they met....

(flash back): “You cant leave the gang Ray...the only way you can leave is if you can fight all of us and stay alive,” a gang member the size of a truck was yelling at ray. "Well...I guess I will go down fighting then" said ray as he prepared himself. The first gang member came with tremendous force, throwing Ray against a wall and then punching ray in the stomach Ray gasped for air and kneed the guy in his chin breaking his jaw when the guy let go Ray spun around and landed a round house kick right in the members face hurling the guy into a couple other gang members when the leader saw this he jumped into the fray giving ray a nice uppercut and then axe kicking ray straight into the ground Ray retaliated with another kick which the leader grabbed Ray took advantage of this and used his leg as a holster point and spun around with his other leg kicking the leader in the shoulder knocking the leader to the side another gang member came in and threw a right hook at Ray putting Ray on the ground coughing blood he couldn’t get up that right hook took a lot out of him when all of the gang members surrounded him Ray thought he would be making it home that night "Hey! Why wasn’t I invited to this get together?" Kira was walking towards all the members "Heh...and I thought we only had one punching bag tonight...boys ...lets kill him!" the leader rushed Kira, but Kira was too fast. Kira jumped into the air planted his feet on the leader’s chest and pushed off like he was some sort of frog... "Hey now" "I don’t remember 100 on 1 being fair?" Kira then Ran to Ray and picked him up "come on... I think if we stick together we wont have any problem" Kira winked at Ray "lets go" Ray and Kira ran at all the members and went all out...The aftermath of the fight was strewn throughout the gangs base Kira And Ray were standing back to back all bloody and torn up "What's your name?" Kira ha asked ray....My names Ray..."What’s yours?" Call me Kira...we should do this more often..." Kira smiled at Ray and Ray shook his head (end of flashback)

"Ray" "I believe we can get out of here...as long as we stick together...you ready?"

 

A small figure, roughly 5'4", pushed a cart down the hallways of the research institute. On the cart were a bunch of trays, each having a different room number assigned to them. It was time for feeding. Each tray had a different type of food, specifically chosen for the cell it had to be taken to. The figure reached Soya's cell, opened the slot for the food tray, and deposited the food inside.

"Thanks." Soya said as he paced over to his food.

There was no response.

Hmm... the food guy usually says "you're welcome", Soya thought.

Soya opened his food tray, "Oh great... mango and banana again!" He walked up to his cell door and yelled, "Thanks for keeping things interesting, you bumps on a log!"

He began to eat a mango. He didn't hate fruit, he actually liked it a lot, even more so now that he was part Lemur. Soya just preferred to have things different from day to day. As he pondered all the foods he hadn't had in so long, he bit into something hard in his mango.

"Ouch!" Soya exclaimed, "What was that?"

Upon further examination, Soya realized that it was a small hairpin, it'd had been carefully dug into the piece of fruit. A hairpin! I can use this!, Soya thought to himself.

Long ago, Soya had learned that hairpins, and other such small objects, made excellent "keys". And, as such, this mango hidden hairpin was his key to freedom. First he picked the locking mechanism on his collar.

*Click!* The collar popped open! Soya then began to work on his cell door, all the while repeating a saying he learned from his master, "Why insult the purpose of the door by locking it?"

Yumitoko looked at the newcomer...black spiky hair, medium build, seemed to be a gray wolf...he was quite good-looking. She swayed her hips to the side...bent down low and eyed him. "My...you're a handsome one...what is your name?" she said with curiosity in her voice. The young wolf took his eyes from Ray and looked at the young fox...his ears perked with interest. Yunmie rolled her eyes and muttered something about her again. "I'm Kira...and who may you be, doll?" he asked with a smirk. She smiled half-heartily and pulled on his shirt, "Do me a favor...DON'T, call me 'doll'..." she said while pushing him off, her green eyes shining in the light, "...my name is Yumitoko, but you can call me Toko." Koji looked at Yumitoko...his ears still showing disappointment and Kira noticed this, but said nothing. 'Why does she do that? I hate it..."he thought to himself. He felt jealousy inside of him, but chose to ignore it. The food guy went by their cell, opened the food tray and deposited two items. A tender steak and a cooked duck.

Kira looked back to Ray. "How's it going Ray? Did you find the girl we were supposed to protect?" he asked as Ray sat down beside him. "Same old and yeah, I found her." he said emotionless. Kira's ears perked up again. "Well...who is she?" he said. Ray only looked in the next cell. Kira follwed his gaze and he happened to be looking at Yumitoko. "Her?" he asked. Ray only nodded. Their food tray was also deposited with steak as well.

On the other side of the room, near the lemur's cell...Tellie heard someone say "ouch". "Are you alright?" she asked kindly. She heard some tinkling noise...she used her sonar to see and saw a blurry image of a man popping his collar off. "What are you doing?" she asked. She noticed that he was trying to escape. "Wait...don't leave me!" she said whimpering. Yunmie, in the cell next door looked over at Tellie. "What the heck...what are you complaining about, now?" she said coldly. Tellie spun her head around. "If you need to know...I'm blind...I can't see well and I don't understand my sonar...so leave me alone."she said.

 

Kyle growled under his breath and started to bear his teeth a little. He leaned back over towards Tobias, "Yeah, I know, but how? These guys have this place locked up tighter than a banks vault. I dont exactly think they want us leaving anytime soon." he said. Kyle had been thinking. His keen sense of smell and hearing had been helping understand what some of the guys were talking about and he could practically smell the lazer grid up in here. So how were they all going to escape.

Tobias shook his head. This was true. The scientist had the only keys and then they had to get past the lazer grid past the doors. There was no telling what else they would run into. The had to formulate a plan, be discrete about it, and then execute. His cell was next to the one called Ray. He leaned over and whispered, "We need to get out of here. We need to come up with a plan and be discrete about it. Any ideas?"

 

Kira cocked his head to Kyle, listnening in on his question to Ray. "I got an idea...if you want to hear it?" He he gave a Kyle a blank stare with the cold wolf eyes he had been given by the curse set upon them. "The keys will be easy to get but... im gonna need your help to get the grid shut down...." Kira went into a long explanation about how they would use the collars tehy were wearing to short out the grid and the collars at the same time and get the keys from the scientists by luring them into the cell through sickness..kir ahad planned this very well since he used to be a rebel at summer camp always faking sick. "one thing you got to remember though... Ray and I stick together...the two of us together are unstoppable...we can fight our way through if anything...and also...Miss toko over there...we made a promise to protect her and it seems that we kind of felll sort on that as well...so we are gonna need to be very precise with our moements... you got that kyle? So...what do you think of my idea?"

(O.C.C.= I just wanted to get the RPG moving for Kryshana and i think i will stay with the RPG... i will be able to post at least once a week and i will make sure i do it at least once...i might even post more....)

 

Ray looking as if not surprised by what Kira said. "I don't care to add anything in you guys figure the details out ill carry out the action" Ray said casually.

(o.c.c I'll stay with the ham rpg. I just need to get things sorted out so im still in.)

 

Kyle liked the idea. It sounded plausible and like it could be carried out. "Okay. I think we can manage that. Tobias and I stick together as well. With his eyes and my smell and hearing, and all of your new skills, I believe we can get out of here. But before we get out of here, I must retrieve my sword and Tobias must get his staff" he said. Tobias simply nodded. Kyle nodded in return. "Okay then, lets get started" he said with a wolf-like smile on his face.

 

Yumitoko looked at the boys and with a keen sense of hearing, she heard what they had been speaking of. "I know where they put our weapons. I was one of the first captured and I tried to escape...but I ended up at dead end where they kept our stuff." They all stared at her. "You're going to need my help to get there...but we got to move swiftly if you don't want them to catch us."

"Toko...dont...you know what they'll do." said Koji. "Oh my gosh! You're such a prick! I know what I'm doing!!!" Yumitoko sneered back. "Fine...don't complain to me when you get caught again." he replied cooly. His ears pricked and saw a man that looked like a lemur, fumbling with keys. "I wouldn't use those if I were you." he said to the lemur. "Those locks have alarms on them if opened without a code. Trust me...this one..." he said while kicking Yumitoko hard in the back, "...tried to escape that way last time." Toko got pissed off and swung at Koji, knocking his head into the wall. "HOW DARE YOU KICK ME? You good for nothing, piece of CRAP!" she yelled while kicking him ,"after all I've done for you!!!" She sat down with her legs crossed. Her left ear twitched and she looked beside her. The three wolves looked at her in shock...thinking that they wouldn't want to mess with her...especially with her short temper. She stood on her knees and grabbed the bars. "It's your desicion to trust me or not...fact is you need me...What do you say?"
