Anime Rurouni Kenshin OVA - episode 2

The second episode starts off with himura and tomoe where the first left off, himura as shocked as he is from what tomoe said to him at the end of the first episode carrys her to a nearby safehouse as shes fainted.

In this episode you get to see exactly how himura lives basically. He doesn't seem to interact at all with the other members of the clan and the fact that he sleeps with a sword at his side gives the lonely wolf persona very well.

Tomoe is employed as a worker in the safehouse and theres a scene where she almost gets killed by himura as she wakes him from his sleep by accident. Theres still no kind of relationship between the two even tho the remainder of the clan think there is.

There is also talk of a meeting and katsura refuses to attend due to the fact that he believes the clans are going down the wrong path.
The meeting goes ahead never the less but theres a leak somewhere in one of the clans and the shinsen gumi are told where the meeting is being held, which leads to a mass slaughter and kyoto being burned to the ground. Katsura escapes and asks tomoe to take care of himura, to be a "sheath for his blade." He then tells himura to go to Otsu to avoid the shinsen gumi and the killings in kyoto. Himura as usual obliges without question.

The final scene of that of himura followed by tomoe with the last frame being tomoe reaching for a knife in the back of her komono........
