Heyya everyone, its Sanosuke reporting live from Tokyo, Japan!

I am currently in a section of Tokyo called Nippori. Very interesting area! ;) The people here are incredibly nice here and will help you if you have problems. I already have made 5 Japanese friends here in Tokyo already.

For those who have been dying to hear -- I have officially picked up the complete Rurouni Kenshin Manga + the OVA mangas! ;) Yippeee.. yes the Japanese version is alllll mine now! BEOWHAHAHAHA!

*prepares to duck the oncoming logs and wood buckets etc*

Be posting more on my journey around Japan -- I am going to Akibahara tomorrow to pick out a Japanese-English dictionary to use for the remainder of my trip so I can just show the display to someone if I dunno what to ask.

    Naeo,

yes I am really in Tokyo, Japan. ;) Am here in Japan for 2 months.

    Hikitori Gensai,

I have bought the manga set + the 2 larger sized books. I shopped at Manadrake -- supposedly the largest manga shop in Tokyo -- located at Shibuya.

If you want me to find out more stuff for you, Gensai, please let me know and I wlll run down there and find out more for you.

It sounds like you're having fun, how's the food there? Also, be sure to check out a museum and learn as much as possible about Japanese History, it's very interesting :)

My cousin is leaving soon for the Nova program, I think it's called. He's going to be teaching english in Japan... but he told me that he just wants to go to buy a lot of anime toys.

This thread would do better in the Japan forum, sending it over there now ^_^x

I am currently in Tokyo, Japan right now after having seen Osaka, Japan for 2 weeks. I am on the bottom end of my trip aka the last leg of the trip. I have really enjoyed it here in Japan.. and will be back here in March-April 2004 for the hanami season (cherry blossom partying under them trees).

Pictures will be forthcoming when I can get a website with decent space up and running.

I have plans to live here part-time for up to 3 months or 6 months at a time after 2004 starting in 2005.

Sounds like you had lots of fun. Did you go to any other place in Tokyo other than Shibuya? Did you go to Haragiku (I really want to go there. :) )?

Yes, I have. I have gone to the following locations in Tokyo as follows:

Shibuya(Manadrake - one of the largest manga shops is near this station)
Shinjuku (god you don`t want to get spun around in rush hour, trust me!)
Ueno (suggest you try the Hard Rock Cafe on the 1st floor of this station in the southwest section just by the central exit)
Nippori (2 of my ryokans are in this station:s vincicity)
Shimbashi(on some maps it shows as Shinbashi) - used this station to transfer to the driverless monorail to get to Odiaba (the man made part of Tokyo drenched from Tokyo Bay). I went to Comiket there for the day.. sore legs followed. ;P
Roppongi (expensive orange juice -- 800 Yen at TV Asahi cafe)
    Hibuya(sp)
Akihabara (went crazy there and bought some electronic gadgets)
Tokyo Station (also a wild station with people changing to the shinkansens for north and south Japan and going to the airport too)

Remaining locations: Ikebukuro, Harajuku(like you mentioned) and Yokohama(technically outside Tokyo).

    More to come later..
