I think that's a joke.. a good satire. But I'm not sure. It's a pretty sad situation when such a petition might possibly be serious LOL

I'd sign it to say so (most of the signatures say it's a joke or that the poster is an idiot), but that petition doesn't need any more votes to make it look legitimate.

 

First this is stupid and politclly it would never pass in Congress. There are some big companies that would lose a lot of money are completly dissapear

For someone who's trying to rid an entire country of a genre of television, they sure don't have a lot of evidence to back up their objection!

'The simpsons promotes laziness!! BAN IT!!

There's sex, drugs, violence and rock and roll on tv!! BAN IT!!!
All four exist in real life!!! BAN I- Oh no wait you CAN'T ban real life. You either learn to deal with them all or curl yourself up in the fetal position and wait till it goes away. You're going to be there for a very long time though.

It's one of the stupitest thing's i've ever seen.
I bet the person who wrote it is some old woman who is a massive christian.
What i'd like to do is find the person who worte it and walk up to them with a copy of Love Hina and say "look what i got! What are you going to do about it? Call the cops!" lol.

If you want an even bigger laugh look at the people who signed the book. Half of them are slagging the crap out of this person for writing it.

That was Funny weather it's was serious or not... they wouldn't BAN anime here, first because there would be a rieit(lol)...plus a whole bunch of other things.

 

*laughs* Yeah, that's fake. XD If it were real, the person would likely be citing more widely-viewed anime, such as Inu Yasha (which has demons! *gasp*), Yu-Gi-Oh! (summoning/magic), and so on. Most of the people I've known who genuinely disliked anime were the ones who'd heard Pokémon was Satanic and just used that as their 'evidence.' Psh.

An online petition would have to have a LOT more detail and thought-out arguments than this one to spark any real debate, though, if it were serious. And anime's never going to be kicked out of the US with arguments like that. There are plenty of American cartoons and live-action movies/series that are by far worse, and any sensible person would realize that you can't judge an entire media on the grounds of a few shows. It'd be like saying that because Harry Potter is evil, ALL books from England must be evil. *snorts* Or that because the Playboy Channel is immoral, we should ban cable TV.

I really think that this was a great joke! Well, it made me laugh anyway.

If it wasn't a joke, then some guy named Dennis is...kinda strange.

I didn't go through all the signatures, I don't have that much time on my hands.

Plus- anime can't be banned. Our good friend the internet has allowed for that. Downloading music isn't especially legal, but the RIAA hasn't caught me yet :anime:.

The guy's email, neko332 or whatever, has "neko" in it. If he's not an anime fan, he's a fan of Japan. It's a satire, and a really good one to make so many people angry.
