Because sega is such a wonderful company, they are releasing many of their classic games for download (FOR FREE) on their site.

Games include ToeJam and Earl, Sonic, and Phnatasy Star 2.

Blah. First, im Arch, not Ark. Second, they do have a price, unfortunately. The ****ers arent as great as i thought, they're only demos. You need to pay something like 6.95 a month in order to but the whole thing. **** it, get roms.

[I don't think rom sites are allowed to be posted here; PM me to find out where.]

Actually, Roms are pretty much a game dowloaded to the computer. They've got their own lil files, and need an emulator to operate. They're technically "backup" copies of a game, and may be considered illegal in most countries. I know that unless you own the actual game over here, you're only supposed to keep them for 24 hours before deleting them. (Dont worry, noone really cares.)

Emulators are programs specially designed to play ROMS. Note that emulators are system specific, e.g. you can only play SNES games on an SNES emulator, likewise for Genesis, Gameboy, GBA, et cetra.

    Good emulators -
    SNES: ZSNES, SNES9xW
    Sega: Genecyst
    Game Boy: ...not too sure.
    Nintendo: NESticle, JNES

You simply download the Emulator and roms, open the emulator, and open the roms with the emulator.

Roms are usually small for home consoles, ranging from ~500kb (for some of the later NES Games) to ~2.5 MB (for larger SNES/Genesis games).

But, to be a disclaimer, usually they must be deleted within 24 hours of downloading. But then again, noone especially cares.
