Celebrations Seraphim got a job! ^__^

    I am finally really happy ^__^

    Well, these past few months I've been a bit depressed with only little supply teaching jobs here and there. If some of you don't know, I graduated from teacher's college in June and.. couldnt find a job in my home-town, Chatham.

    Well that's over, no more stupid calls early morning or during supper time >< I got myself a long term occasional at my old high school, Ursuline College 'The Pines' and will be filling in for a woman pregnant with twins. So I'll definitely have a job til end of January, and then second semester they'll see how I do then sign me on I guess. I heard supply teachers there have signed contracts in the past and then goofed off or took off. So I understand why for me its tentative.

    SO! Subject is *drum roll*
    French Immersion:
    Subject: French
    Grades: 10,11 &12. The kids are all nice but teaching French Immersion is challenging. At least now I can look forward to paying off my debt of many thousands of dollars! 0.o :)

    Congratulations! That reminds me about my own pursuits for a career. I also thought about teaching, but I tossed that out the window when I heard that I won't get much pay with my future BA degree.

    Thinking of careers, seeking a job, paying things off... scary!

    I'm sure you'll have loads of fun teaching French immersion to those Grade 10-11-12 monsters! (j/k 'bout the monster part).

    Thats cool you got a french teaching job. I am in french 2, god is it hard. I should of payed atention to french 1 lol.

    I got through my first day! Period one was a bit awkward, being the highest grade level, the first day and the first class and the craziest play. but my last two classes were a lot of fun! :) I need to organize some questions and plan some fun activities for future classes this week.

    So I survived my first day and can actually sleep (I hope) tonight. ^__^ thank you for all your comments and good cheer.

    Too bad you aren't teaching anyone I know, well I may know some of them since it's my old school ^^; Kind of cool that you're filling in for my teacher from OAC French too.

    Actually, my dream is to teacher Visual Arts. but I'm home and I'm just happy to have something offered to me no matter what it is for the time being. ^__^ so, update again, nothing horrible has really happened. So that prophecy of a new teacher coming and the school blowing up wasn't true. (phewww!) Well, I hope I'm seen as a cool teacher. but a good teacher at the same time :)

    congrats ser. *shudders as past language teachers come to mind*.... wouldn't have picked you for a language teacher.:p . i was thinking art too. you'll just have start moving in on the current teachers territory. If you can't get her job by painter better than him/her, then try making their job intolerable.:D . luck!
