Anime Shaman King

I haven't heard much about this series, but what I have heard is overwhelmingly positive. A couple of my online friends have compared the tone and style of the show to Yu Yu Hakusho (Which, as you can see by checking out my 'Top Ten Anime' thread, is my favorite anime of all time). What's this show like? I know the skeletal plotline by visiting Animenfo and such, but I want to know if it's actually any good.
