Video Games Shenmue 3 (sob)

Why oh why hasnt it been announced yet

does anyone have news about shenmue 3, i know that yu suzuki was recently put onto a new prject but i never found out what it was.

I you have any news as to whether there will be a part 3 (chapter 4) then please tell me, i got shenmue ages ago and loved it, then 2 came out and it was better than the first, sega must continue this story in one form or another or i will sue them for withholding coolness from me.

The first Shenmue was too short of a game to really be considered "decent", at all. Really, graphics and originality is what the game had going for it, as it was something new, especially for Dreamcast... but it hardly made up for how horrifically short-lived the game was, even IF you did everything possible, not to mention the stomach-wrenching cliffhanger and complete and utter annoyance that made me just want to chuck the controller at the screen at having to go through few pointless and overly-simplified fights to get, really, nowhere.

After being so let down, I didn't bother with the second.

 

I know what you mean about the first one, luckily i got stuck on the "find some sailors" part and put the game down for months, by the time i picked it up again and completed it shenmue 2 was out so i played that straight away and so avoided cliffhangage, however the end of shenmue two is equally annoying with it's lack of closure.

The ending moments do seem rushed though.

Shenmue two is a far superior game to shenmue 1, you should play it - even if it is for the gameplay and visuals.

The character interactions are better, there are more fights - maybe some of them are still pointless (bishie in the basement - why the hell was he there? couldnt they have written him in better) And ren of the heavens is a great character also.

Anyway i heard a rumour today - that shenmue three is going to be a MMORPG (???)

any other news on that?

I myself have never played Shenmue 1, but number 2 was the first game i purchased for my XBox. It was freaking great. Sure, some parts got annoying, like following Wong, cause he walks slower than the dead, but yeah, Overall it's great. I would like to see number 3 on XBox as well. All i know so far is that Zuming is in it, and there might actually be a Zer0 chapter? Ive heard Zer0 takes place before Ryo and explains his father and stuff. Ah well, anyway, Suzuki-san better hurry up and release it, im getting impatient.

 

I played Shenmue back when it came out on Dreamcast, the only thing I didn't like about it was that you had that job for way too long. I haven't played number 2 yet, my brother just got it this summer so I'll have to steal his sometime. He also found a trailer for #3. Looks very cool and online. I just looked for it but all I could find is this website. http://www.shenmue-online.com/ I'll ask him where he found the movie and post it. Didn't really look through that website so I don't know whats on it, hope theres some good info. It looked promising!
