I saw a Taiwan Mangaka's work. I liked it and I copied her style (that's how I learn to draw). I was too lazy to draw the body.

I think I should have done better on the hair, and a person from another forum said that her chin was a bit too pointy. Also, I can't shade (I suck at that)...

Sorry for wasting your time like this. C&C would be welcome, but you are free to not C&C it. It's not worthy. I'll try to post something better next time.

*edit* This is an "animfied" cartoon character, actually. Anyone who can guess who she is and the show she's from will recieve a virtual cookie^_^

looks good to me... like the eyes 'specially. But to me the hair seems to grow out of a strange part of the head. looks good but:)

It looks like Sedusa from the Powerpuff Girls. Am I right?

From that, I take it that although you're working off someone else's style, you didn't copy this from another drawing? Pretty dazzling highlights in the hair. Compared to my style of drawing, yeah her chin is kinda pointed. But that's okay since lots of proffessional anime styles have such pointy chins. Great job though.

poom-poom: The hair is weird. I suppose you're right. I won't make that mistake again, thanks!:)

seraphinx: Yes, you are correct! I thought nobody would recognize her:p I'll go and "bake" cookie now^_^

Copy from another drawing? As in "tracing"? As in "copy the whole pic and modify hairstyle only and claim I did it"?
Nope:D, I think. I studied the eyes and nose and features, but I didn't trace. I guess I wasn't expressing myself clear enough (I'm not very good with words sometimes). Like you said, I was "working off someone else's style". Thanks.:)

Okay that's cool. So, who is the Taiwanese artist that you were inspired by?

Can't type her name here. I can't type Chinese characters. I think her name is "Chemay" in English.
Oh, and here's the cookie I "baked". It started out with cookie only, but the "baking" got out of hand. Cookie baked in an hour.^_^ Wish I could upload it to boomspeed instead of attaching it.

I'm very glad you liked it!:D

I borrowed her manga/comic book from one of my friends (who has tons of comic books, manga, posters, etc.) Then my Dad bought me her manga drawing guide. Useful stuff. How to use screentones, how to draw hands and feet, how to make backgrounds with toothbrushes and an iron, net like thingO_O...
Nothing about computer graphics, though. It's all the traditional stuff.

I tried to make backgrounds using the way she did:

I admire your talent for CGing  . Wish I could do it.
