Tenchi Muyo Simple question

    A friend of mine who i've just forced through 5 hours of tenchi wants to know why they even bothered doing the universe series right from the beginnign with changes? whats the logic behind it, why didnt they just continue off the OVa storyline.


    I didnt know the answer so i put it to you and if u dont know i'll scour the internet for the answer..

    I don't know about 'official' reasoning, but sometimes a fresh start can be, how to say this ... 'refreshing(?)'. The differences offer variety to the whole franchise, which is great for fans like my sister who have attention spans as long as a hamster's tail.
    Anyway, I'll shut up now ...
