Note that this is a BS poem I wrote up in ten minutes to make as a welcoming post on another forum. It's not representing any inner turmoil or whatever. :p

Pain. Pain is all there is. Suffering.
Pain. Pain is all I am given.
Pain. Pain is all I will give.
Pain. Pain is all that will remain.

I just wanted to be part of the emo crowd... :(

The whole thing was a mockery of the whole "emo" thing. :p

I figured, since (just about) everyone was writing poems, I'd BS my way through one, and that's what was the result.

Thanks *Hazel*, but I'd rather not be an emo kid. :p

kind of a US style of music and life style thing, like punk was and goth, I think maybe it came out of punk and hardcore originally. Never heard anyone talk about it in UK, but Im not realy into rawk ^^ so maybe I wouldnt notice. Don't think it will catch on in the UK, but I guess you somtimes see kids here who look they could be emo, i saw a bunch on a train going to a festival once. Nobody I would know ^_~

    yea its from "emotional".

Emo (short for emo-core, itself a contraction of "emotional hardcore", now usually an abbreviation of "emotional") is a term now broadly used to describe almost any form of guitar-driven alternative rock that expresses emotions beyond traditional punk's limited emotional palette of alienation and rage. It is also used to describe fans of this genre, most commonly teenagers. (ie "Emo Kid"). The actual term "emo" originated in the mid-1980s D.C. hardcore punk scene, with the band Rites of Spring.

Contrary to popular belief, most "emo" is not in fact emo. Often, anything with emotional lyrics is lumped into that category. There are other genres. Screamo, Hardcore, post-hardcore, etc. Also, most of what people consider to be "real emo" (aka Death Cab) is in fact Indie or indie rock.

P.S. - I really shouldn't reply to posts at 11:30 while doing History Homework. No coherence whatsoever.

    Hurrah for our Emo-selves.

Haha. I'd never think there would be a thread in mockery of such a genre. Nice. :D
