Billy Corgan's the biggest poser ever. He even beats out Rein Maida (or however you spell that guy's name) for that distinction. The only song the Pumpkins had that I even found marginally enjoyable was Bullet With Butterfly Wings. The Smashing Pumpkins were overrated to begin with. And then there was Corgan whining that there was no room in the music industry for a rock band because there were too many pop acts, so he went whining out of the business. Of course, rock bands continued to sell albums left right and centre, but he didn't notice apparently. Then, months later, he came back, having changed one member of his band and coming up with a new band name, releasing songs that sounded exactly like his "previous" band. Maybe if he hadn't done that, and had preserved what little shred of integrity he had, I would respect him a bit more, but, well, I'm sure I've been vocal about selling out before.
Anyway, that's my rant for today.

Wasn't the new band called "Zwei" or something? I remember hearing about it.

I never really did like the Pumpkins, since Corgan's voice was too high pitched and whiny sounding to me. I did like one of the songs off of their MACHINA/The Machines of God album, but not enough to buy it.

To this day when I think of Billy Corgan, I think of the Hullabalooza episode of the Simpsons. "Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins." "Homer Simpson, smiling politely." :)

    Zwan, in fact.
Corgan was a good lyricist and all that, but he was just a lousy musician with a worse personality.

I'm with you, Legato. I like the Pumpkins, but I don't have their greatest hits. I'm not a big fan of Zwan, though(even thought they sound kinda alike, its too happy).

I haven't heard it yet but I don't think it can be as good as Melon Collie and the Infinate Sadness. Just gotta love that album. :)
