Recreation smoking

I pity those who started smoking and got addicted. It's so gross! If I even get NEAR cigarette smoke I start choking. And it's killing my aunt, so I'm never gonna smoke, that's for sure...

I hate smoking and am very sry for the people who do... I dont understand why they start in the first place when they know what all it can and will do to you.

 

smoking is for the stupid.

nah just kidding. Yeah when you think about it too much it's stupid, but since when have we been that smart. And I'd hate to be addicted to it. But I'm guilty of smoking a bit, really only when I'm drinking as it's pretty relaxing. I'm over the whole bad smell and taste thing as pretty much all my friends smoke.

But it's kinda like beer. I mean it tastes like crap when compared to non alcoholic drinks. It's the mental effect that your after really. And every now and again you think "man, a beer and a smoke would go down well"

But I'm with Mordeth on this one. Your better off having a real smoke. It's no better health wise, but it sure as hell feels a lot better.

 

Thing with smoking is, you basically get used to it. I mean, you can't sit there in a room full of different people and ***** about smoke. Then everyone just hates you. Both my parents smoke, and I have a few friends that do. Parties = what Hamish said about people smoking when they drink. I'm a non smoker myself, and I don't like the stuff, never have. But you do have to accept it as part of society, and sometimes you just have to live with it. We're all going to die eventually anyway. May as well do it a tad younger.

 

I dont smoke and i never will but i think it may make you look more dramatic or cooler at times.Such as spike from bebop.

 

*ahem* wake up *smoke* drive to work *smoke* get to work *smoke* during work *smoke* on breaks *smoke* drive home *smoke* ....and so on wow, im smoking now ^_^

I was tempted to try it... lost a few friends on the way by regetting the offer to smoke. Well... did I care. No, lets see who's going to get lung cancer first, let's see who's going to get broke first, let's see who's going to die first... It's their choice, not mine... got nothing to do with me. *hands off*

 

One thing I noticed about non smokers is that a lot of them seem to think they are better or smarter than smokers.
And quite often seem to resent them.
Any particular reason for this?

 

they think they are more superior when they smoke because it is rebellious. but i'm a lot more healthy than they are. they can't even run once around the track at school.

I cant handle being around ppl when they smoke I start to lose my breath and coaugh. Then I need to rush into a room and get fresh air so when I am never smokers I seriously hold my breath and get outta that area. I have never tierd it and I never will it is like to dangerous for me to even be around it, jezz I am weird :dizzy2:

I know friends that have died from it so um, I aint smoking no way

Also my mom smoked outside on the porche she hid it from me but I found out eventually and she quit THANK GOD!! but it always upset me b/c she would be less willing to do stuff

 

I really doubt that. I've never met anyone who thought they were superior to anyone because they smoke. Sure when you're a kid it's an act of rebelion, but it's a rebelion against adults and rules. Not other kids.
Just sounds like high school issues to me. You'll get over it.

 

there may be the hole superiority issue going on but not all none smokers may act that way. People who dont smoke just dont want to be around people who do smoke somtimes, the smell or what ever and that may be mastaken for superiority. It just depends how you look at things and what side you are looking from.

Personally i dont know why any one would want to even start to smoke and cintinue to do so. I am sure that they know the risks. It will kill them. My grandpa died of lung cancer cuz he smoked a pipe and he only smoked it like once a week. So it goes to show. And i have other family members who smoke and others who have died from it. But sorry if i sound like i am giving a lecture, as if at school or somthing. =^-^=

yeah well unfortunatly some people are more suseptable to cancer than others. It seems to be genetic.
But personally I think smoking is only really dangerous if you make a habit out of it, then it can become addiction. Like I said, I smoke regular tobacco the odd time but I've never felt myself craving it at all.
And people start and continue smoking simply becasue it gives you a buzz and relaxes you.

Edit: I don't want people to get the wrong impression here, I'm not try to encourage smoking or anything. But I wouldn't discourage it either. It's best to let people make up their own minds. But it's just I come from the "don't knock it, til ya try it" frame of mind.

Same for me and i finally got me parents to stop smoking, mum quit with paches and dad just threw them away and never picked them up again...^__^ they have been with out them for a year and a 1/2 (mum a while longer) and are still going strong!!! ^__^
