    FINALLY. :p

I quite enjoyed it, too. ^^ I'd be lying if I said it wasn't going to make it onto my favorites list. Was an awesome series.

Although, having also played Melty Blood, and read through the threads, it seems the anime skipped out on a lot of things. I'm wondering about more than a few of them. I know there's another game, but that's in Japanese still, isn't it? No news of a translation patch anywhere?

As far as favorite characters go, I joined a Ciel fanlisting, I think that says it all. :p Especially since I've only ever joined fanlistings before when pestered into it by a New Brunswicker. ;)

And wow, I'm so late watching it... I didn't have internet when everyone else was, I was stuck in libraries :(

The anime is defintely missing out on a lot that the original Tsukihime H-game has. A few extra characters, a few more plot lines. Then there's the FATE/STAY NIGHT/HOLLOW/ASTARIA series as well...where Arcueid does make a few token appearances...

*psst* PM me a link to the H-game?

Yeah, I picked up on that, when I saw 5 or so characters in Melty Blood that weren't in the anime. Mech Hisui, Shion, Warakia... So I'm curious now, and I want to find out more about it.

    Ok, I've identified Ragnaroks patterns.

Phase 1: Start to watch an anime
Phase 2: Start to really like that anime and talk about it a lot
Phase 3: Consume all things related with the anime
Phase 4: Adopt a female character as an avatar/crush, especially if they're motherly in some way. If the character isn't motherly enough, reimagine her as being so.
Phase 5: Find a new anime after a couple months. Go back to phase 1.

    Cute :p

Phase 4 is wrong though. :p But you tell me, is it bad to want to acquire more material from a series? :p

Now, back to our regularly scheduled topic :p

    I watched it too.

Altho it's a vampire story, its excitement levels are nowhere near Hellsing. Sure, there's a battle at the end, and guess what?

The girl dies at the end. Haven't these japanese guys learned the phrase "happy ending"?

Anyway, i'd classify it as a "who am I and what happened to my past" story filled with tons and tons and TONS of flashbacks. Unfortunately, it's not as mindscrewing as evangelion. Some things are shocking, maybe disgusting, but it doesn't make you get too attached to the characters. Oh yeah, there are vampires, too, but pretend they're not and the story doesn't change.

Ummm, Hellsing the animation was meant for more action than any thinking. Tsukihime is a mystery-style show at its core. You have to find out who exactly Shiki is. I think the term "different genre" is important here.

Look, I have nothing against not-perfect endings, but this was a very ANGSTY event. I don't mind angst and suffering present in series (Saber Marionette JtoX, Full Metal Alchemist), but in the ENDING?

In any case, that wasn't my main objection to Tsukihime. It's just kinda... shallow. I prefer much deeper stories, Like Evangelion, FMA, FF6, etc.

Yes, but you're forgetting the fact that half the story is also left out. That's what the thread is about. Happy Endings are shallow too.

Tsukihime wasn't exactly sad either. Arcueid can't die. She's one of the "originals" per se, in the Tsukihime timeline, AFAIK.
