Neon Genesis Evangelion So what happens now?

    So the end of the world has happened and Shinji and Auska are now in limbo somewhere. All the other ocupants are floating around in the red LCL blood ocean waiting too be reborn. Would this acualy be the end or the begining? It would be great if Gainax started work on a sequil, but we know it ain't gonna happen.

    There's a fanmade sequel, very thorough and all that, called Eva-R. Check it out, I haven't yet, but it's supposedly good. It's got a following of it's own, so it really can't be TOO bad. Anyway, there was some talk of a sequel, and there's a poster running around about it...been for a while. It shows an older Shinji holding an older Asuka and Rei looking the same, perhaps due to her angel origins.

    In any case, going by the movie ending, which I don't really do (as I think the series ending was a lot better), I'd say that everyone comes back, if they want to. People like Gendo and Fuyutsuki didn't want to come back at all, we know that because that's why they worked for Instrumentality in the first place. But, Shinji came back, because he had a choice. This choice is more seen in the series ending. As long as he has a will, he has a way. And, melding the two endings together, you see that Misato's mind and Rei's mind and Asuka's mind was also "diagnosed". Seeing as ALL the main characters minds were scanned and probed (though Shinji's to a higher extent) it's safe to say that everyone gets the right to choose whether to stay or not. However, that goes against the fact that Shinji has the power of God in EoE, which is why he was in the middle of the merge of Lilith and Unit-01 and Rei. And why he was the center of the Sephiroth. Going that route, I'd say that Shinji copped out and did what he always wanted, to be left alone. However, some part of his infantile mind knows that he needs *someone*, whether to hate or blame or love, and the closest person to that is Asuka. And about Rei appearing and all, I'd say that's a sign of a new beginning, as she was there also in the end.

    *sigh* That's a lot of writing, and I wouldn't be surprised if I confused myself.

    Oh the amount of times ive fallen for supposed Eva sequels... "Reverse of the dead sea scrolls", "Eva Revitalisation" & numerous posters... wishfull thinking but Anno is quite happily back on his prozac.
    As for your reason that Fuyutsuki didnt want to come back, i dunno... Gendo didnt come back because he was, well Eaten, but Fuyutsuki, i think he wanted to just see Yui much to Gendo's original plans. & Shinji having the powers of god... not quite, Rei/Lilith having it & doing as Shinji requested is more like it.

    The rest is right... they come back if they wish to, it's the end of the movie, but the beggining of a normal life for them.

    Actually, the first link is a newer one. The one I was referring to is this:

    Looks like I was wrong and Rei also looks older. Yup. That's the one I'm talking about. Notice the bottom left, where it's all the production credits, and the "theme" called "It's a Wonderful Life" Dark Mix (Which I think they confused with "It's a Wonderful World." But, whatever.

    Bah ive seen that one before... sadly yet another fake.

    (Then again i do have a tendency to say something & the ways of the world turn me to be wrong... back when i beleived "the reverse of the dead sea scrolls" thing)

    Wow i didnt even guess how wrong i was going to be proved... i have good news & bad news

    Good news; They are doing something Eva related that will be made in movie/series form

    Bad news; It's just a remake... for now they have the technical abilities Anno has been waiting for & he wishes to re-do it with todays abilities

    i was half wrong & half right.... go figure

    In Addition... just dont jump full heartilly into this... my sources have been known to speak-a-de-shite... i'll inform you when i have solid proof

    As far as I know, the new eva DVDs are just gonna be remastered and released with space for EoE and Death & Rebirth. So, better audio, a few *supposed* cut scenes and a better box set. Sucks....but at least I didn't buy my eva set yet. ^_^

    So, basically, it's like the remake of the "first" three Star Wars. Remastered and all.

    On hindsight it isnt a fake... the renewal one i mean... just someone mistranslated & probably only translated the bits saying "New" & "Evangelion" when in fact it probably read "New remastered Evangelion", mistakes will happen.

    DAMN SPOILERS! MISLEADING ME!!!! *Breaks soemthign*

    Uh, anywho, I finally got around to watching the damn Movie (EoE) even tho I had it in my possession for a WEEK (damn PS2!!!!) and was somewhat disappointed and yet content at the same time.
    Anywho, spoilers told me that Shinji and Asuka were left to recreate the human race, but if what you all said was true then, damn those sons of a gun! :mad: Mislead me why don't ya!!!!!!
    Tho, that ending seems like a logical and ironic one to Eva, Asuka and Shinji like Adam and Eve, an ending to end a series which poked fun at chistianity. :p
    But meh, whatever (that was one hell of a creepy ending tho, Asuka just laying there, all of a sudden her eye moves. That scared me and lefted me wanting to pound the DVD player!)

    Now I gotta give a sumamry to the girl that lent it to me for her brother wouldn't let her watch it till she watched the whole series, so she cheated and just gave it to me to watch. Ugh...
