Eirtaku So what is the #1 anime according to the Irish Otaku?

Holy crap, there is actually an Irish anime site ^_^

Well anyway, my Fav anime is EVA, but I also love Macross, Orguss, GITS, Patlabor, Gundam, 3X3 eyes, Wings of Honneamise, Project A-ko and Gunbuster.

What do U guys think?

There are a lot that I like but my faves are probably Tenchi, Gundam Wing, Evangelion and DragonBall Z. If Ihad to pick one it would probably be Gundam. Ghost In The Shell is good too.^_^

 

How the hell did I forget Roujin-Z, Akira and Perfect Blue.
PB is only great the 1st time you see it, gets a bit boring after you know whats gonna happen.

Best Series: Cowboy Bebop
Best OAV(OVA): Macross Plus
Best Movie: Princess Mononoke (Studio Ghibli owns me )

g-wing is good but its not even the best gundam series

i really hate the fact that i have to order from american sites to get everything tho, now that MEL have shut down we're buggered if we'll ever be able to buy any in shops.

 

Myself, I like 3x3, Escaflowne, EVA, Gundam (wing) and Akira.
wooh! And I'm *finally* getting Princess Mononoke

 

I wouldn't have an overall favourite, but these would come close...

. Dragonball Z (Japanese, not the edited stuff on Toonami, although recently it's gotten a lot better with Ocean dubbing than FUNimation).

. Neon Genesis Evangelion.
. 3x3 Eyes.
. Gundam Wing
. Any of the Tenchi's except Tokyo....

 

I just saw "Otaku no video" and its a great series.
Funny and its got an amazing amount of references and things from other anime.

 

Ummmm, my favourite is probably Evangelion, but I do have a soft spot for Escaflowne.

 

Well, as some of you already know, I'm a big Gunsmith Cats and Bubblegum Crisis fan (yes, even Tokyo 2040!) so they would have to be contenders for the number one spot. As well as Perfect Blue, Dominion Tank Police, Project A-ko, Ghost In The Shell, Patlabor, Dirty Pair and Dirty Pair Flash.

Actually what i'm trying to say is that they're so much good anime out there that its hard to pick a single one as being my all time favourite.

 

I'd say the best anime would have to be Tenchi Muyo OVA because it's so dam funny and maybe Gundam Wing.

 

After watching Macross Plus: the movie again after so long I have to say that its the best piece of anime in existence, even better than the OVA it just seems to be put together so much better.

I guess its not suprising considering that Kawamori want Plus to be a movie originally but Big West only wanted a series.

I've also been watching a lot more of Macross 7 and despite the rubbish animation its a great series.

Ok actually I love loads, but Gundam WIng, Dragonball Z, Legend of the 4 Kings, Street Fighter V2, and Slayers jump to mind.

But I LOVE GUNDAM!!

To be blunt, Gundam Wing suks ass and so does Endless Waltz.

I thought they were ok when I first saw them but compared to the UC Gundam stuff its just godawful super hero crap.

 

If you like Macross Plus and Robotech, then you'll love Macross 3: Lovers Again. Taped it off Sci-fi. Loved it. Ask and ye shall receive......a loan of it that is.

Macross II was a load of crap apart from the decent soundtrack and some great Valks it was a total rehash of the original.
Macross 7 is good but definitly a bit stranger than the others.

Well lets see...I have seen a @#%$ load of anime..so its hard to narrow it down..lets see..

Best Series: Evangelion
Best OAV: Samurai X (rurouni kenshin) trust/betrayal
Movie: probably Ninja Scroll..

Although some that deserve mention are Fist of the north star, Vampire hunter D, Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter Alpha, El Hazard, The Guyver, 3x3 eyes, Devilman, Giant Robo, Dangaioh, Nadesico...ah..the list goes on and on....
