I cant believe that it is rated R for violent images. I saw the japanese version and i think it only needs PG-13

GAGGGGG... i have to go to see it with my parents...

First of all I want to say what's up to all since I'm new to the forums. :D I just got back from seeing the Cowboy Bebop movie, and would like to share my thoughts with you all. Being a huge Bebop fan, I was very excited. I thought the story was okay, though a bit dragged out, due to the just under two hour time frame of the movie, as opposed to a 20 minute episode on DVD. The plot definately had its ups and downs, but stayed strong throughout. The new characters, Elektra and Vincent were very cool as well. Elektra was cool (bad name though) and fit into the Bebop mold very well. It was also cool to see her character develop throughout the movie. Now, as big of a Vicious fan as I may be....I have to give some credit to Vincent for being a cool character. While no where near as cool as Vicious in my books, a welcome threat none the less. I also think that Ed could have been less annoying and more important to the story. The animation rocked as usual and the music is top notch.

In conclusion, if you like Bebop even a little bit. You owe it to yourself to see it on the big screen. It was definately cool to go out and see other people enjoying it as much as I do. The thing that sucks is that it has limited showing, and can not be seen by everyone. I lucked out and found a theatre 10 minutes from my house showing it.:D :D :D :D Well, happy hunting guys, and once again I'd just like to say what's up and glad to be here in the forums.

But still Vicious 1... do u think it should have been rated R? I saw the subbed version in Japanese and it is no where near an R movie. What do you think about that?

The R really doesn't matter as far as content in this case. The idea is simply that a R rated animated feature will attract a larger "adult" audience (who would otherwise not see an animated feature), while keeping the children out.

Well Bounty Hunter, I agree with you. It seemed just like a regular episode to me. No real swearing, nudity or any of that stuff. It should not have been rated R at all, but I think that xorcist is right in that they wanted to attract an older audience. A person who is older and enjoys the movie is more likely to go out and spend 20-30 dollars per DVD to see the original series. As opposed to a younger person who does not have the cash to buy 6 DVDs and extend their viewing.
