    Oh! That's easy!

Ya, what you have to do is tak...okay yeah, you're screwed. :)

What program are you using to save your work? Remember it is always best to save things as a jpeg...and compressed is always nice. Yeah, .tiffs will do you no good on the net. However bitmaps do work with geocities and such, so you do have a couple options. Poor widdle stadust bunnie.

Well, this works for me... when doing a "Save As" when you type in the file name and such, put ".jpg" at the end.

Example: The picture of my character, Tybal, I'd type as "Tybal.jpg"

Of course could just be me or something. :dizzy2:

Just changing the extension on the filename will NOT work...

You'll need to either save it out (perhaps) export it from your art program as something more web-friendly (the main three are JPEG (*.jpg), GIF (*.gif), and PNG (*.png)...)

If your pic isn't too large, or has a small amount of colours, I suggest going with GIF, which uses a color palette index to store information...

But otherwise, it may be preferrable to stay as a Bitmap image (bmp, jpg, png), since the compression may work better for you...

In any case, you may need to even download yourself a small freeware utility to do the conversion....Here's a few small programs I found in a quick search. Any one of them should do the trick for you.

I'm using Canon ScanGear Toolbox 2.2, but I can use about two or three other programs:

    ArcSoft PhotoStudio 2000
    Canon CanoCraft CS-P 3.8
    Imaging for Windows

Thing is, if I scan with ScanGear, I don't get a choice in filename OR type.

Don't worry about the first save. You can always convert the image later. Once you've got your Bitmap, just open it up in Aha (500k download above, Free), right-click on it and pick Convert...

An easy 1 minute BMP->JPG conversion. Cool, ne?

I feel like such a retard now. ^^; Thanks BUNCHES for your help, Mattsu-san. (I've always said that sounds cool...) *huggle* All I had to do was tell ScanGear that I wanted the files saved as jpgs. ^^;; *feels so relieved* I rescanned everything and deleted the bmps. (I saw the difference in filesize...O.O)

I uploaded a pic. I have more, mostly Megami Kouhosei...

MEEP! I have to send the Script contest entry! I scanned my three main characters. ^_^ ^_^

    *the ever-grateful one

Well, I don't think you needed to delete all your .bmps. You could just open the file in Corel photo house, or even paint, and just save as as a jpeg or gif. Then you could just delete the bmp original if you wanted to.
