Movies some of you may find this funny

Hi there,
Me and my boyfriend were sta ther one night and an advert for the fellowship of the ring came on, he said "have you ever notaiced how much the lord of the rings fellowship of the rings sounds like a gay thing?". I said "what do you mean by that?" because I think its a marvelous novel and movie. Then he went on to say that the lord of the rings sounded like the name of a gay bar. I giggled as I found this slightly amussing. Then he said that the fellowship of the ring sounded like a gathering of gay people. Then I hit him because he was being very stupid and I diddnt find it funny anymore. What do you guys think? (in my opinion I think my boyfreinds a little strange)

Don't know what to say. It just seems so weir. I never even thought of the movie being gay or anything, it just doesn't come across like that. Sorry I didn't find it funny but your boyfriend is strange.

 

Freud would probably say that your boyfriend mentions all of this "gay" stuff because he is unconsciously attracted to males.

Or he would not. I can't say. Actually, I would probably venture to guess that your boyfriend is quite straight.

Some yaoi fanatics like to imagine Frodo and Sam in a relationship (or at least call it a one-sided relationship), though these fans usually consist of the female gender.

Anyway . . . after that pointless rantage . . . yeah, the Fellowship of the Ring has nothing to do with gay relationships. Your boyfriend was being stupid.

And no, I don't think your boyfriend was weird about the gay title thing. It seems like a perfectly normal thing for a typical guy to say to his girlfriend. Trust me, I know it sounds a lil whack, but that's how typical guys are around here at my college. They just say the uncoolest things to their girlfriends thinking they're showing off how intellectual they are. But me, I think that's just being a lil (not a lot) disrespectful to one's girlfriend. I personally would never say such a thing to a girl, especially a girlfriend.

But alas, if you think about it, there really is a lil bit of potential for gayness in that title. It's really a guy's joke though, so you can't feel the fun unless you tell it to a bunch of nasty guys in person. It's real comedic value would lean more on HOW you bust it out in front of the guys. Otherwise, you just have to be used to sexual innuendos. ("...Ring...heheheh...makes me think of a sphincter...ooh!" Like that.)

Yeah, everyone knows how much the nobel prize winners love gay jokes!

Heck, I'm a guy and even I stopped giggling at gay jokes a looooooooong time ago (and Im only 19, so these fellows cant be far off in terms of age).
