Boo the "Build-a-Character" feature. They couldn't just expand the story instead? That's kinda stupid. Also, why not also release on the Xbox and 'Cube/Revolution? All in all, it looks great...but the fact that they're going the opposite of expanding marketing...it's a queer move.

I was dissapointed at Soul Calibur II, and from what I saw, III doesn't have much more, other than sweeter graphics, and that build your character thingy. They need something more, like Console Wars. Metroid vs. Master Chief would be cool, and Master Chief vs. Mario would be quite something!XD

Well I'm not sure about you guys, but I liked the fact that there was a different character on each system in Soul Calibur II. I'm not saying the characters were any good, but it was a good idea. It's too bad this game is only for Playstation 2.

I'm definately giving this game a rent. It's a shame Namco didn't add an online feature, or I'd buy it. =/

...Except for the fact that he's actually very good if you learn how to use him. Combos, m'boy.

In any case, it looks nice, but I'll hold off on buying it. I need a reason to get a PS3 first, after all.

90 posts since getting back and 2300 total. Woo.

Soul Calibur 2 was indeed a good "follow-up" to the dreamcast game. As a "fightingame-o-holic", Soul Calibur 2 was too unbalanced with the characthers. There are some chars that were totally useless, and some that were too über. That was the only flaw with SC2.

Soul Calibur 3 does look impressive, and the addition to the new charcthers, in the likes of Tira (<3), Setsuka and Razheiedk2l2llllelelzz something, are interesting (Mainly Tira). I think that the "custom characther" function is just wanting the game to have some more indepth single player "fun". Like Tekken 5, and it's ranking status and "clothes" captures, just to expand the single player fun a little more.

But I don't know really. Soul Calibur II was a good fighting game, so we will see how Soul Calibur III will turn out. Hopefully the game will apart of me and my friends "friday night bashes".

I believe the reason it's only on PS2 this time around is this: they're hoping the fans that played it on game Cube and X-box would've loved it so much, they would buy a PS2 just to play it. That brings in even more money for the playstation. Plus, now it has that more 'exclusive' feel...games that are on all platforms don't usually have this feel.

I think the three new characters are cool and I love the idea of building your own character. Cause guess what? There are people that actually want to make their own character. Like moi. XD The only good function I've ever seen on an WWE game is the create your character mode, so I think this is a good addition to SC.

I'm defiantely buying it, but that's because I was such an SC2 nut. And for the build your character mode. I could care less if they added hardly anything to the plot, as long as Xianghua is back and i have some interesting new features to play with, I'm fine. X3

Why would Namco care about how Sony's fiscal shares are doing? They don't give a witch's teat about it. They're doing it to save money on their own. SCII for the GCN was overall, better than the other two. But, more people bought it for PS2 because more people own that. It costs too much to develop it for all three systems.

SCII is a fantastic game imo and unless they make huge mistakes i'll be loving this one.
I'm a huge fan of the deflection system and also abusing how good kilik is :)

Kilik is awesome if you choose the right weapon. Nice and fast, keep 'em at a distance. =)

... Why? I only see the thing that was mildly interesting about the GC version was that they had Link as an unlockable character. Well, X-BOX had Spawn. SPAWN. In my opinion, much more bad-ass than a little elf in tights. :D That's just my 2 cents. Also, the X-BOX version looked better, but I admit, the X-BOX version was a little bit harder to play because of the size of the controller/button placement.

It played easier, the controller suited well to the game. Link and Spawn were generally very over-powered characters. However, I just enjoyed playing the GCN's more.

The Xbox had better graphics, yes. But, like you said, the Xbox had no advantage of faster loads nor did it look better on a REGULAR TV. It looks better if you have the TV and the cables to support it, and had it on HDTV. Therefore, my vote goes to the GCN.

The PS2 is slow, outdated, and Heihachi sucks as an extra character. Especially since he's already IN fighting games.

I've played the GC and PS2 versions of SC2, myself. Frankly I prefer the PS2 version, though this is laziness on my part. I own a PS2 and thus it's the easiest version for me to play, I got used to it and I find the controls work more comfortably for me than the GC version.

By the way, Cassandra = Alles :D

As far as SCIII goes, I'll have to look into it when it hits the second hand stores. I won't bother sooner than that, though. I have more important things to do with my time. :)

God dammit. I liked this game, but I'm not touching it anymore. Apparently Namco left a little bug in it where if you delete any other file from your memory card, it corrupts your Chronicles of The Sword data. =/. Back to Battlefield 2 for me.
