Let's make this the Spiderman 2 thread.

I saw this movie yesterday and it was great! There was drama, comedy, suspense, lots of action hmm.. romance? I really felt for Peter in this movie. Shows how much life can suck for someone who is doing the right thing. He should get paid. Like those policemen do.. but then ..
well here are some of my fav. parts:

I couldn't believe how hard I laughed when Peter was trying to beat the pizza delivery deadline. He ran into an alley and this one guy saw Peter go in but Spiderman swung out and the guy yelled 'HEY! HE STOLE THAT GUY'S PIZZA!!!' mwa ha ha!!
I loved the part when Peter decided to go Hakuna Matata and he was walking along on campus and tripped. Then finally put on his glasses. Tehn there was that freeze frame...
When Doc OC and his wife were discussing how she tried to get Otto to understand T.S. ELliot.. I chuckled because Otto would have a hard time understanding the jellicle cats and silly stuff about cats and dogs. Though that's not all T.S. did.
When Spiderman tried to stop the train with his foot... that must have hurt.
When Peter fell and hit the cars and cried 'my back!' then set a car alarm off.

Wasn't it weird how Aunt May is in the movies? I thought she was a clueless elderly lady, and now here she is spurting out philosophy and making it sound like she knows who Peter is! I guess saving her life changed her, of course her outlook on Spiderman...

Just in case, this is how to do spoiler tags ~
your spoiler in here[/SPOILER!] now take the question and exclamation marks out.

Yeah! Spider Man 2 was a great movie. I saw it with my brother a few days after opening night to avoid the long lines.
I was intrigued by how he was losing his powers at one point. I was thinking, hmmm, maybe he's getting malnutrition since he has to hustle for money (and maybe food).

ya this is kinda of silly, but I thought
he ran out of money to make the fluid for his webshooter. oh SILLY ME! that's the cartoon and comic mentallity.. lol. I forgot until after the second time he fell that all his abilities were given to him and I had remembered the first movie. its funny .. I rewatched the first movie after watching the second. Willem Dafoe keeps getting paid to act. :p And its funny how Peter was working for Dr. Connors and got fired for being late all the time in the first movie...

I saw the movie yesterday and thought that it was pretty good. And i was surprised at some of the funny moments in it. I thought that the fight scenes were really good. Spidermans elastic body seems really good for fighting as he does quick backflips and other things.

By the way, did anyone else notice Stan Lee moving around in the backrounds? I noticed him twice, in
The scene that Seraphim mentioned, when Peter was walking down the road in slow motion and then trips, if you look at the man running across the street you'll see that it's Stan Lee (or somebody that looks incredably like him)
The other scene o noticed him in was when Doc Oc kidnapped Aunt May, when a peice of building starts falling to the ground a women stands there screaming, then a man grabs her out of the way, i think that was also Stan.
I was wondering did anyone else see him around?

    Yeah, that was him.

I guess he likes to involve himself in Marvel Movies. The man's the energizer bunny, seriously. He just keeps going, and keeps on sticking to his lovechild!

I disliked the movie, maybe because i'm a fan of the comics and i hate the way they screwed with the first movies plot (would it be that hard to have used gwen and let her die??? anyway the main reason i dislike this movie is the god-awful train feelgood scene, i mean it was overdone, and then the kids come through with the mask and everyone lets them through with a "let the children through" kind of feeling. lame.

The other part pisses me of slightly less, did anyone actully believe the love between MJ and JJJ Jr it was stupid, it was as if the director decided half way through that he wanted a dumped at the altar scene. also lame.

and the camera effects as she ran away, the movie was TRYING to be artistic, wait i've got an idea let's have her run past a fountain because fountains are romantic (also she was laughing heartless *****)

and another thing, why do cybernetic arms that are controlled by neural links need to hold ai capable of distinguishing between good and bad (how does doc ock a man who spends all his life working with fussion have time to create such devices?) i'll tell you why it's so he can have his redemtion scene at the end and not be hated by anyone becasue after all he was being controlled by the arms (uber poo)

i apologise for the rushed and heavily opinionated post but there were quite a few liberties taken in this movie

I will be honest there were some good scenes in this movie but it's difficult to remember them when they're surounded by so much crap

I don't know about you guys, but... :-/

but I think they exaggerated the "take off your mask" stuff.

I think this webcomic can express it better (not mine, but funny anyway):

    So, what do you think?

I guess it's probably just me, but I didn't find it exaggerated, at all. And that post and webcomic (note: the post for the webcomic, not YOUR post, luvweaver) is rather moronic and, well... childish. It's unfortunate that people were so downtrodden over such a minute detail that was stretched to the extremes, even though it had a distinct and beyond valid purpose.

It's just all in all, depressing.

Do me a favour and do not read Bourne Supremacy and then go see the movie lol. Both were good, but completely different. The villain of the Bourne series as a whole has not appeared in the movies, and the villain of the second book didn't appear in the second movie (or the first). The movies stand on their own though, and are good.

I'll just consider Spiderman to be the same way, though the differences are not nearly as great. And besides, with all this talk about Dunst not wanting to do more than one more film, there is speculation that Raimi will throw us a curveball and reverse Gwen and MJs roles ahaha. I'll look forward to your post after that happens.

Spiderman 2 is a really good film, but I think it tries to be more flashy than the first one, it just gives the impression of wanting too much in the way of effects, as a (bad) example when Spidey has to get back against the train when another one comes. I saw Stan lee in the part where he rescued a woman from a falling building too, very brief it was. He likes to make an appearance in all his movies and I must say I think he deserves too. He's put a lot into the Marvel universe throughout his 81 year life, and he still keeps going! I reckon the music in this one is great too and the love between MJ and Peter is very convincing and poor. It's a lot more gothic than the first one with Doc Ock but very good. If you like the comics then I would suggest going to see it, as this one for me has quite a few more comic references than the first, e.g. peter being down and out when it comes to money and not paying his rent etc.

I saw it about a week ago, and I liked it
even though Doc Oc dies in the movie and doesn't die in the comic (atleast to my knowledge)

I disagree, but i know what point your making just look at the x-men films (number 2 inparticular) They work as elseworlds, but i still think that spiderman movies are lame even if the writers try a "this is a possible spiderman" line.

I dislike that they left peter as a geek even though he (mostly) grows out of that,

the scene where he sees the burning building and tries to rip off his shirt superman style, i know it reminded him that he gave up the cape so to speak but it has less power than the same scene in the comics, simply because he doesn't need the outfit in the films
