I just got to see the movie last night, had two free passes to see it in the theater(thx to my sister :D ) The whole movie kicked ***, of curse it did, Hayao Miyazaki made it. If you are interested to see more on this film click here. http://www.animeagency.com/features/15.php

I really liked it, even though it gave me that same kind of headache I get when watchinf Wizard of Oz, Cabin Boy, or Mystery Men. The kind I get from arbitrary weirdness..

In the theater I suppose it was dubbed? How was it?

I watched the sub of it, which was very cool and I liked the music in it(it was by the same guy who did Mononoke methinks). And I did find it very awkward, but very original... And the storyline made me want to know what was going to happen next, though it felt longer than 2 hours.

I thought it was really cool too. Damn strange, but I like that. I thought it was really fairy taleish, old fashioned fairy tales though, like in Cinderella where her sisters cut off their heels and toes so their feet will fit in the glass slipper. I really don't know why they leave that out these days(although, Rohl Dahl didn't).

When I first saw Spirited Away, it was on a bootleg tape, subbed. I had these expecations for it to be more "epic" like, I guess, Princess Mononoke . . . those expectations weren't met, and I didn't like the movie that much the first time through. However, my local anime club showed it and I began to like it the second time through. When I was in Chicago visiting Northwestern University, I noticed that Spirited Away was playing at a theater up there - my Dad really wanted to see it (since he's into anime too) so we watched it. That time, I really enjoyed it!!!! I loved the dub, and on some levels I actually prefer it to the subtitles (especially with the added dialogue in the ending that makes it, to me, a LOT more meaningful).

And yes, the music for Spirited Away is the same composer as Princess Mononoke: Joe Hisaishi (He's done a number of other Studio Ghibli films too, including Kiki's Delivery Service).

Wow....I've never seen an anime in a theatre. Ever. I just have it all bootlegged. Muahahaha. Um, anyway. Spirited away was excellet, i saw the sub. It was very twilight zonish, but, it was very satisfying for me, because I enjoy that stuff. Ghibli Studios is one of my favorite. Princess Mononoke was the best dub I've ever seen so far. Course, there's gotta be better ones out there...summ'ere...But, yeah, the animation is fab, the story line keeps u on your toes and overall.....thumbs up. :D
