    ya arms. what happened to Vash's left arm? it got easily shot off by Knives, but I thought in the flashback Vash already had a fake arm, cuz then I thought it was too easy to shoot it off, but hey.. it's easy to break off a twig from a tree...

    Is Legato really a powerful telekinetic, or is he powerful because not all his body parts are his? There's a lot to Legato I don't know. He made a comment about the owner of his left arm....I do know who the owner is, so you don't need to reply with the answer.. maybe we can be cryptic for those who haven't watched it all.

    but then, what happened to Legato's real arm? he bit it off or something?

    I don't normally reply to threads unless I think I've got something useful to offer, and I don't really but here goes!

    I don't know what happened to Vash's arm. In the anime I always assumed that it was his real one that Knives shot off, the thing that has puzzled me the most is - how was it retrieved from the remains of July? Vash wandered off, a temporary amnesiac. Knives had been so badly injured he spent the next 20-odd years on life support and the city was trashed. I theorise that Legato may have already been Knives' flunky at this stage and was watching from the outskirts and came in to retrieve the bits.

    In the manga I can't find any reference to how Vash lost his arm. When he meets up with Knives in July it's already an artificial one, I think. Certainly they only experiment on his right one.

    I'm almost sure that Legato was already a telekinetic before the transplant. That would be why Knives recruited him in the first place. He only picks up gomi if they can be useful to him. And Legato is so besotted with Knives that I'm sure Knives would have no trouble persuading him to have his own arm amputated to make way for Vash's. Might have even been his own idea.

    Legato kept on making comments, like, 'with this left hand'.. maybe it was to psych Vash out. but did Vash even know it was his arm and hand???

    Doesn't he find out somewhere near the end? I seem to remember him reacting to some comment of Legato's.

    I'd react weirdly to anything Legato would say.

    i guess i always just assumed that when legato attached his arm, he picked up a weaker version of their powers...<shrug>

    hmmm... well.. Legato was able to communicate telepathically with Vash. and was it then that he said 'with this arm? or hand?' trying to psych him out with that kid eating the hotdog from him. well, anyways, I assumed that Legato was similar to Vash and that perhaps its due to the arm. but I do agree as well, there must be a reason why Knives joined up with him, but perhaps its mutual psychoticness that brought them together.

    Yeah, I think Legato spoke telekinetically to Vash through his arm because in the later episodes whenever you see him talking to Knives about Vash ("He shall suffer eternally..") he always looks at his hand and then it flashes to Vash.

    I always get confused cos Knives shoots off Vash's right arm yeah? But his gun arm - fake arm - is his left when he uses it in Monev the Gale and other episodes. Maybe I'm confused but I'm pretty sure it was..
