The oddest thing happened today. Allow me to relate the tale.

At something around noon, I stepped out of my room to walk down to the floor lounge to see if anyone wanted to go grab some lunch. Three of my friends agreed to go. One of my friends informed me just before we left, while we were waiting for the rest of the group to get their wallets and what-not, that there was a squirrel in our lounge, hiding in the heaters. I thought he was just high or something (with us university students, you can never really be too sure). Anyway, I dismissed his claim. The don (the RA, as some may better know the title) came in and said that sometime every year a squirrel manages to sneak in, and that we had better watch out because Waterloo squirrels are evil. The rest of the group arrived and we left for lunch, leaving the don and his stories of demonic squirrels behind.
Lunch was fairly pleasant, although we were forced to eat breakfast food due to some rule the cafeteria has about weekends. We returned to res and went to the lounge, resolving to play a little N64.
No sooner had we set up the system than we heard a scratching sound coming from the heater. Out of no where, this squirrel burst out, startling my group of four and another guy who walked in to dry his laundry. Over the next hour and a half we hunted the squirrel, employing numerous tactics like psychology, traps and netting, using weapons such as laundry bags, garbage cans and a feather duster. It took the five of us, plus another's assistance to trap the thing. During the hunt, the creature climbed couches, refrigerators and the inside of a friend's pant leg as we attempted to trap it. This truly was a demon squirrel.
Anyway, after much effort, we trapped the squirrel in a corner and then under a garbage can, which we used to slide the fiend outside, where we released it to the whims of nature.

That's how I spent my afternoon, hunting a single grey squirrel inside the floor lounge. I have pictures to prove our triumph. Just have to get them developed.

well considering you were going to spend it playing a few good games. the squirrel incident sounds far more interesting and I bet you burned a few calories. I don't believe the pant-leg incident though. Sounds like something I saw in a commercial. lol.

I only wish my college was that entertaining. :)

So far the only infestation of anything here has been the DDR players in their hive upstairs. They only come out at night.

We DO have a lot of squirrels, though... perhaps I should let one in someday and liven it up.

It actually happened. He screamed and had to shake it out of his pants. It was kind of funny afterwards, but we were all very much afraid for him. What is the preferred diet of squirrels?
