Anime Star Ocean EX, Galaxy Angel, Angelic Layer..

Does anyone like one of these animes? (Star Ocean Ex, Angelic Layer, Galaxy Angel)?

I know someone on the boards who like Angelic Layer.. He'll have to talk to you about it himself though, I don't know those shows at all really.

 

They all just got done airing in Japan so thats probably why you dont know them...^^;;

I think so. I've only seen about half of it. But the half I saw was really cool.

 

I've seen up to about episode 5 of Star Ocean EX and it was very good, the one problem is that I knew what was going to happen next though because I've played Star Ocean 2. And Angelic Layer is really good too, and it does remind me a bit of Pokemon except with angel doll things...

 

Oi Oi!!! I loved Star Ocean EX. I never played any of the games..^^;;; And by accident, I stumbled onto a site about it, loved it, and went straight for the fan subs. Needless to say, in one week, I saw episodes 1-4...And was hooked. Planning on getting the whole series on DVD for my birthday ^.^

 

On DVD?! Are they even planning on a NA release? Or are you getting imports?

 

Here are my official opinions on the anime in question:

Star Ocean EX
I've seen 9 eps so far. I like what I've seen,but I've noticed some areas where it differs significantly from the PSX game. They never visit Click in the anime,Ashton has Ryouga's sense of direction,and Gyoro and Ururun were "framed" for the deaths of the local cattle by an insect monster with a Sorcery Globe fragment inside it (kinda like the Shikon no Tama in InuYasha,but that's another story).

Galaxy Angel
I've never seen any of this,so I have no official opinion of it.

Angelic Layer
We showed this in anime club recently (half last semester and half this semester - long story). I thought it was interesting,but they could've done without about 98% of the angst between Misaki and her mom...

InuYasha - Icchan-san was a weirdo,but he's MY kind of weirdo!

 

I did see the first episode of Angelic Layer... and it is really good... Gotta say it is better then Pokemon! I got the chance to download it online. . . it look me a whole day just to download it!

where can I find a fansub Star Ocean EX? ^^; thanks

 

My sister has most of Star Ocean EX on cd, but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I'm a little caught up with catching up on my posting and school work right about now, but the SO will come after that, I guess. The game was great, though.

 

I'm getting the imports of Star Ocean EX . And there is no release in NA for it yet.

I downloaded 4 episodes of SOEX on KaZaA on a 56k modem. I just left it on over night , and then wake up and I have a new episode ^.^

 

Hehe... yup ;.; a 56k modem! it took forever to download it! I used cuteFTP evaluation version, hehe ofcourse I go bonkers fer ANIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I can't download any *cries* I don't have cuteFTP anymore, and I'm a mIRC newbie. . . I can't live without anime T_T... if anyone would be so kind to tech me how to use this mIRC thingy!

I finally finished seeing the last of Angelic Layer this last week and I guess I gotta go with Tamayo-chan...

I'M BURNING!!!

I'm very into this show, so much I'm madly encoding all the episodes into VCD right now before I go back into the Abyss for the summer next week, cause that's about the only format that will play reliably on my machine.

It's especially good toward the end of the Kanto Tournament and after, I guess maybe because of the eps that made Jonouchi Sai one of my favorite characters, and a lot of the eps after that are about as good.

Oh, and ADV Films officially confirmed at Anime Central this weekend that they have the license for Angelic Layer. Oh, well, my encoding is almost done anyway and something in addition to the manga has to tide me over for the 2-3 year wait, though I'm sure the presentation will be good when it comes out.

 

I want to see Angelic Layer so bad..I love the music, and it's from Clamp..So not only is it's cute, the storyline is great. Was there any humor in it, is it really good?

 

Umm...if you want to call the running gag of Icchan-san "punishing" his assistant Ohgata for no apparent reason (The "Batsu Game") humor...

Well,there was also the shoujo standard-fare love geometry: Misaki/Kotarou,Misaki/Icchan-san's brother (forget his name at the moment),Tamayo/Kotarou,and,though I think the animators were trying to pull one over on us with this one,Misaki/Tamayo.

Then of course,there's the overly-enthusiastic encouragement that Tamayo gives Misaki (usually at Kotarou's expense! )
