Well, my Type O Negative thread failed, so I'm going to try again with another somewhat obscure band, Strapping Young Lad. If you haven't heard of them, then maybe you've heard of their vocalist, Devin Townsend? You know, of the Devin Townsend band(as if that isn't obvious...)?

Woo! Someone posted! Yes, this kind of music is scarce, there were only 2 of their albums, both of them were "SYL". And I'm sorry about your friend....

Anyway, if you want a good taste of this band(this isn't directed at anyone in particular), get the song Detox. Download it, get it from a friend, just find a way to listen to it. And then you will know Strapping Young Lad.

"City", "SYL", and "Heavy is a Really Heavy Thing". Then there is a live album, I think it's called "No Sleep til Bedtime".

I had to bump this post just because it's about SYL.
I thought about posting about SYL a few months ago but I figured it would be pointless. Their new album should be easy enough to get in any decent music store.
I pretty much have everything Devin Townsend has ever done and in a previous post listed a track from each of his albums and SYL albums that people should download. He does quite a bit of producing too, like the new Lamb of God album.
Check it out if your in to metal.

Didn't he produce a Soilwork album? I thought I saw his name on one of those ><.

    (Devin Townsend, that is)

Yup he produced their Natural Born Chaos album.
He's also doing the soundtrack for the new Fallout game.
And apparently a heavy metal puppet show is in the pipeline.
Along with a new SYL ep.
