I have a lot of them. At the newbie forum I mentioned that I've JUST gotten into Cowboy Bebop (to this moment I've seen sessions 25, 1-whatever session Heavy Metal Queen is. I missed #26, unfortunetly.)
I admit I feel silly for even asking them, but it's kinda hard to get good info for this show!
So I decided that my dumb questions should all be seperate so that I won't have to invade your threads with them. This could also be a good thread for other people who have questions.
Off the top of my head:

    1. Just how many CB movies are there?? Are some made-for-tv? What order?
    2. Is the entire show on DVD?
    3. New episodes, ever?
    4. How popular is this show, and with who?
    5. Is there a major CB web site I should visit?
    6. I LOVE the music. Where can I find out the names of the songs in relation to the sessions they are in?
    7. What other shows/movies have the creators of this show and movies (whatever they're names are) have they made?
    8. When was CB first made/aired?
    9. What's the major merchandise? I like posters, books, action figures. Not into trading cards and such.
    10. Most of all: I know the show is based on a manga. I've never seen a peice of manga in my life and I've only read one comic book series in my life. I like to start reading things from the begining.
Is there a cheap, common reproduction of the first issues of the manga? Basically: where do I start? I saw some paperbacks at a local suncoast video...

I think that's all I wanna know for now.

    1. 1 movie. (BTW, IIRC its not actually canon).
    2. Yes.
    3. No. Like most anime series, CB is a story with a definite beginning, middle and end.
    4. Extremely popular with several varied audiences.
    5. No idea.
    6. No idea.
    7. Hajime Yadate has made Cowboy Bebop, Turn A Gundam, Ronin Warriors. He was also the author for Gundam Wing and a Gundam Wing miniseries and a Ronin Warriors thing, IIRC.
    8. 98, IIRC.
    9. There are posts, wallscrolls, figures/models, soundtracks, the usual fare.
    10. Sadly I have no info regarding the CB manga.

Bebop didn't start from a manga. The manga came from the series. It's a little three volume stint, with more adventures for the crew.

Ah yes, Ronin Warriors (Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, nihongo style) rocks. ^_^

Edit: hmm...just checked Tokyopop, and it seems as if there's a second Bebop manga series on the way. It's called Shooting Star. Go figure.

As for Sites and music.. if you do a search on www.anipike.com you will come across some good sites with the info you are looking for. I use to have these sites loged but that was a long time ago.. They are out there just do a quik search and you will find them..

you can ever browes this forum.. there are a few threads with lists of some of the songs..

and the series has 26 eps in all.. No new ones are coming out.

Thanks for your answers. I've been to the Jazz Messengers site but only a little and I don't really plan to come back.
Too bad there can't be more of this show. If it's popular enough i garentee it'll continue in one form or another.
Some one fire the suncoast video employeee, he told me all sorts of junk. He claimed the show on the DVD is a totally differant show then what's on TV (besides cuts.) He told me the manga came first.
I was watching the film Ghost in the Shell yesterday (for the first time) and I noticed the name Watanabe (spelling?)in the begining credits, which I know is the last name of a director for Cowboy Bebop. Is it the same guy?

Another thing: I watch this show daily. Every night I see an episode (oops I mean "session") for the first time (yes I stay up to watch it; hey it's vacation.) What thread can I post at to give a review? Or can I just start my own little "review" thread for them all without being yelled at?

If you're looking for some cool sites for CB, here's a few I keep in my Favorites List:

    Asteroid Blues

    Bad Dog, No Biscuits

    Bebop da Bebop

Cowboy Bebop-The Real Folk Blues (an excellent site)

    Somewhere Down the Crazy River

Cowboy Bebop... Are you Living in the Real World?

Cowboy Bebop.. Liner Notes (interesting insight into a lot of the smaller details, often unnoticed, about the show)

    Lost in a Memory

These are all (or should be along the lines of) general CB sites (not specific character shrines or anything, though if you'd like specific character sites, I have a few of those bookmarked, too and could give you the url).

Hope this helps broaden your CB horizon!
