According to animenewsnetwork.com, "Adult Swim announced that they expect to air one new anime series
soon and that it will probably be subtitled."
Sadly, Adult Swim hasn't announced what series it is yet.
I've read other forums, and some people think it's either Beck or Evangelion.
I'm hoping for uncut/subtiled Mai Hime. That would rule! ^ ^
It could be Mai Hime, because Cartoon Network have shown
different Gundam seires by Bandai, so maybe Cartoon Network
have their hands on Bandai's newer series Mai Hime.
Plus it's newly been licensed in the U.S. so maybe the dub is not finsh yet.
I would like to know everyone thoughts on this announcement,
and what series they think (and/or hope) it's going to be.

Update: It's not Evagelion, it's been confirmed that that series is airing dubbed.
So hopfully It's a newer series! I hope CN/AS surprises us with something new and different.

I don't know about "uncut", since there is some nudity in HiME. I don't see how some of Evangelion won't be cut either. BECK would be great, actually, to see...but there's no way that'll be "uncut", because that has more profanity than a Guy Ritchie movie. And the profanity isn't on the subtitiles, it's the actual dub track and in ENGLISH that they're swearing. =P

I really don't have much of an opinion about this, but I do know that "subtitled" releases in North America is a great step in the right direction. Just don't expect *fully* "uncut" releases here.

I doubt it will be Eva. Since Beck is not offically liscenced it can't be on CN. Since I really don't know anything about My-Hime. But they did say something could be subtitled. It is not a garentee. It would probobly be something that was not dubbed and they don't want to pay for the dub. I refuse to speculate on what it could be.

Eva IS going to be shown, but I'd bet it is edited, as Izzy said. I personally am looking forward to some new S-Cry-Ed, they ended at such a bad cliffhanger. =(

They need to show Negima, and not kill it with DUBS like Love Hina.

Would totally love to see it on Adult Swim, and there's not that much (if any) stuff that needs to be cut off.Yay!

It would be awesome to see Love Hina on Adult Swim!!! That's be awesome...or Fruits Basket...then I'd be so happy. Grrr...I hardly watch S-Cry-ed, so I hardly know what's going on everytime I DO watch it. Hehe...silly me. I noticed Inuyasha wasn't on last night at it's original time...did the times change already? Grrr...I hate it when they do that!!!

i think they changed the inuyasha time to like an hour later like 1 or 2 am? i dont remember, but i dont thiunk CN will have Love Hina for a while b/c they wait until an anime isnt as fullstream to release it on tv... the same goes for fruits basket b/c of its size right now i think it would be too pricy for CN to buy the rights to show the show.

What about FullMetal Alchemist? That's still preety popular, and they still paid it.

Plus, Love Hina was released in Japan back in 2001, and the pack with all DVD's was released last year for only $100 at some stores. Maybe we'll see Love Hina soon on TV? Maybe not. I'm guessing 18/20 minutes would have to be edited due to pervertedness! :p

I don't think AS would launch something like Love Hina, or Furuba. Why?

Love Hina doesn't have enough action. AS pretty much picks out what's popular with the Shounen Jump! crowd. And I'd agree to it, only because it (meaning Bebop, FMA, etc) appeals to a broader anime watching crowd. I'd say less of everyone watches a dating-sim type anime than they do an action-oriented one.

Furuba wouldn't work because it's more a Shoujo anime. Again, appealing to the "wrong" (quotation, because I'm think about the marketing aspect) market.

This is why an Anime Network will/is works so well. They can have different days for different types of anime. Action Friday, Shoujo Sunday, et al. Or even split it by hours. As far as CN and Adult Swim though, I can't see them put up anything like Furuba or Hina.

Besides the point, I'd like for them to put up something a little more recent. Gunslinger Girl would be good, but the "I love my Big Brother" thing wouldn't sit too well with the market. But the action is great. Samurai 7 would be *awesome* since it's mostly action-based. Hina and Furuba are a little too "old", and as a viewer (which I don't watch CN or AS anyway), I'd like to at least be comforted with the fact that I'm seeing more recent anime. =P

Yeah...true...thanks Hiro for the info on Inuyasha...I heard Nurato is coming on Toonami...that's awesome! ^_^ I think that anime is cool! What ever happened to the Tenchi Series? I used to watch those all the time, but what happened?

They played all the Tenchi Stuff except the Pretty Sammy stuff which wouldn't really fit with CN. Also Tenchi really does not fit with CN even though they played it. It wouldn't be too suprised to see OVA 3 on AS but I wouldn't hold my breath. That and they would proboly have to renew the liscense for Tenchi from Geneon and that would mean more money which they could put into newer shows that would fit better into AS.

It would be interesting for them to show One Piece virtually uncut, they'd have to have it subtitled since 4kids messed up the audio really bad. I had heard AS/CN was going to show OP, but I didn't understand how they'd show any good version of it without fixing up or re-doing the audio and edits. But showing a subtitled version would make sense.

I think viewing some subtitled anime is a great way to go, shows the ultimate power of a great show, with the intended seiyuus of the characters.

or did they already start showing OP? I really don't know..

I saw the preview for it on one of the FMA DVD's, and it looks simply awsome. But I saw lots of things that would get edited, especially where people get shot in the head and you see the bullet in slow motion hit the head, and all blood and stuff...good stuff!

As for Naruto's uncut edition, I'm guessing it's gonna be uncut for the DVD release, just like FMA, and several other anime i just don't feel like remembering.
