Video Games Sword of Berserk

Hey I like The Sword of the Berserk -Gutts Rage for Dreamcast. I just recently found out about the Anime and Manga, I downloaded a couple shows in Japenese, It's cool, I want to get the DVDs. From what I figure the game takes place after the series, cause Caska is all crazy cause everyone died. And Zodd was saying something about useing Grifith in his army of the dead. I don't really understand the whole Zodd part in the game though cause I only saw a few episodes. So what's the deal with the game and the Anime, do they connect, where do they take place from each other????

The game is a sequel I believe.I havent seen much of the anime,so Im not 100% certain.All I know is that it has no closure to the series.This game is supposed to come after it and then there is another manga series.

 

The game is kind of an "alternate timeline" as a sequel to the Berserk anime . . . the graphic novels that occur after the events in the anime are different from those in Sword of the Berserk, according to other people on the forums (I haven't read the manga, so I can't give any specifics).

The game wasn't even really written by kentaro. It really has no relevance to the manga/anime at all. Its a little similar in parts. The wagon he starts the game in with the small girl and old man is from the start of the manga but thats where the similarities end.

As i said, minor similarities.
He doesn't really have any relationship with zodd, even in the manga, he only turns up 3-4 times and gets in a fight and leaves

 

Yeah, that's all he did in the game and they were tailking about Zodd raising an army or something and something about the Hawks. I had no idea what he was talking about when I first played it, I just saw a few episodes of the anime this year so I went back to the game and it made more sence.

 

Hey I orderd the first DVD with the art box!! Can't wait to get it!! I just finished reading through the whole thread and you all already said everything bout the game...geuss I should've read it first...oh well, this thread can be to talk about the game or what ever, and the new game that you guys said will be out for PS2, hope that comes out soon, I jus got a PS2 so I can play it!!
