    I'm just wondering, do you guys pronounce japanese names and animes with japanese sylable emphasis or american?

    For instance, do you say NaRUto or NAruto?

    I say it Japanese, except Sakura which I prefer to pronounce western, just because that's how I've always said it... only because I have a good Japanese accent, though. ^_^ I have a friend named Shawn... he has a very thick Texan accent... and I can't STAND it when he says "NAruto" it drives me CRAZY!!!! :dizzy2:

    I've always tried to match the way japanese people speak. So, of course, I pronounce it the japanese way.

    I just pronounce it however comes naturaly. If I'm speaking in english I'll probably pronounce it the western way, if I'm speaking in japanese I'll say it properly. It can sound pretty stupid when someone who already has an accent says a name in a japanese accent while speaking english.

    uh..... what DL said -.-;;;;;;;;
    exept, that I NEVER say things that strange way some dub's do.. like.. well I can't put it right typed.
    Basicly, I say things the Japanese way, but not with a japanese accent if I'm speaking English.
    (like Gokudo, I hate when people say GOKUdo instead of go-ku-do.. if u get my meaning.)

    hm..i dont think it bothers me that much. The only thing that bothers me is like jackal said, when they dont pronounce it in syllables at all. For people like me, it doesnt matter where they place the emphasis..(especially for someone who's never seen naruto), since even the japanese change their emphasis on syllables to suit tonation.
