  1. I'm in agreement Kevin. Listen to Grace Jones' 'Slave To The Rhythm'=20
or Depeche Mode's 'Never Let Me Down Again' or 'Master & Servant' or=20
Frankie Goes To Hollywood's 'Two Tribes' and 'Welcome To The=20
Pleasuredome' (there are dozens more all- or mostly-Synclavier=20
records like those) and you will find that they are enormously=20
sonically rich. The Synclavier and Fairlight CMI systems were very=20
complex, and entire careers were made at the time out of programming=20
them!) However, I am generally more a fan of the sound of analogue=20
synths myself, as much in awe of the full-on digital sound as I am. Early=20
demo tours (1983 onwards, and especially when the Synclavier II and=20
9600 models came out from 1986 onwards) by the Synclavier guys=20
    really blew people away.

    =20

I love analog synths and the digital techniques as well. I have all the=
    =20
mentioned CDs (even on LPs) and I have to say: ZTT and Trevorn Horn=20
productions released many low soundquality stuff like:
    - FGTH (all of their material are dull and flat)
    - Propaganda (also)
Depeche Mode releases from 1983 on (with the exception of the 1986-=20
Black Celebration) was getting worse and worse in soundquality with=20
the time. I don't quite understand the reasons. The Broken Frame and=20
the Black Cel. were released in outstanding good soundquality. It=20
seems somehow it was easy to make faults with the high-end stuff too.
    If I take a listen into the 80's Synclavier/Fairlight pop-material, I almos=
    t=20
can't find any good recorded music. Fortunately the Yello was a very=20
good exception as Fairlight users. Up to now I've had almost 350=20
synthesizers and the 3/4 was analogue, but somehow I've kept my=20
Fairlight-3 and a Synclavier also surrounding with some analogue=20
    synths....
