Yaoi and Yuri tasteful yuri.....

i'm looking for smoe taseful yuri, but no dice so far. any suggestions?

 

Define "tasteful". I doubt anyone can understand what you mean... also, you're looking for manga, doujinshi, or just anime?

Well, you could try looking for shoujo-ai instead of yuri, since it'll be based on romance than sex. You could try HEN, which I heard is a good shoujo-ai manga series.

Well, I haven't watched a lot of anime in the last year or so, so I'm way behind the times. But I'll try my best.

Lucky, I think the other posters gave you good advice in telling you to refine your search from "yuri" to "shoujo-ai" (girl-love). This will help you find more PG/PG-13-esque content.

As for actual series, I see coldhearted recommended HEN. It's a good manga and a fairly decent OVA. However, the manga has a lot of nudity, mostly topless in nature (let me put it this way, one of the characters has enormous breasts, and no opportunity to get a joke or a fan service shot of these is spared). It's worth looking into, but it may be more extreem than what you're looking to find.

If you'd like to find a manga-influenced comic, I highly recommend Josh L's "Girly" (www.go-girly.com). It features the charming relationship between a wannabe superheroine and her sidekick. It's very cute and funny and while it has a lot of sexual innuendo and sex-related humor, it's on the whole fairly tame. I love this one!

Depending on whether or not you're looking for it, Saber Marionette J Again (the OVA) may suggest a fairly innocent romance between Lime and Marine -- though that's a matter of a ton of debate over at the SMJ boards . Whatever is or is not going on, their friendship is really beautifully portrayed. Some other good shoujo-ai titles are Battle Athletes Victory and Revolutionary Girl Utena. Both of these focus on relationships between young women that have romantic undertones, if not more.

Honestly, I'm racking my brain and I can't think of any pure yuri titles. I can never figure out why yaoi is so popular in America and yuri isn't... but either way I've never even seen a shoujo-ai series. I've just never heard of any!

However, in Loveless there is a girl-girl couple. Their relationship is very sad and romantic, nothing hardcore. So it's definitely "tasteful."

But I don't see the programs of TV. I only see the anime that I like. That's the reason because I know more yuri.
