Just when I thought I kicked my WoW habit I went ahead and started a new character on a PvP server- Y'sondre. Go figure I throw the finger to the Alliance and pick up a Rogue Troll. Needless to say I'm powering through levels (been less than a week and I'm at 22 :3 ) and I havent had this much fun since I first started.

There's a huge mindset difference between the Horde and the Alliance. Seems to me the Alliance guys are a bunch a D&D'ers who want to become the hero and be the ones to slay all the naughty villians. Don't get me wrong, I love my 51 NE Rogue on Dalaran, but you have to admit- Alliance blows. Everyone is stuck up and they all seem to have a rather elitist, snobbish attitude. It's true that some are friendly enough and you can tell that there's a real person sitting behind the keyboard- not some 12 y/o little punk with a hardon for Night Elves, but by in large they're the most irritable of the two. Alliance bites the bullet pretty hard when it comes to PvP as well. They all want to be the hero and try to solo EVERYTHING. There's little to no appreciable teamwork to speak of. Everyone just runs off and does thier own thing, leading to thier eventual trouncing at the hands of the more adept Horde.

Now the Horde- These guys have the real spirit of the game down. They don't give a damn. They're out to have a good time... and possibly ruin someone else's day in the process. I was walking around Orgrimmar when this little convo came up on my screen-

    Tree Yells: Liana!!
    Liana Yells: <3 Tree!!
    Tree Yells: :D
Liana kicks Tree square between the legs
    Tree Yells: D:

I've never seen anyone get kicked in the junk running around Ironforge. It's that kind of random player interactions that gives the Horde a unique feel. It's not just one or two people either- it's the entire race. The Barrens is a cesspool of newbies and more senior players who don't really give a sh*t. Barrens Chat is about as lowbrow as you can imagine, and yet, irresistably amusing at the same time. Horde characters are simply out to enjoy the game to its fullest... and crack some skulls here and there.

When it comes to PvP they seem to be the best. They're the better organized out of the two. Thier teamwork eclipses the Alliance's which leads to bigger and better victories on PvP maps, as well as a better response when your level thirteen corpse is being camped by a level 60 Paladin with a fetish for cleaving trolls. Four on one and we ended up camping his corpse for about 15 minutes before he spawned at the graveyard down the way. Seems to me most Alliance characters can't be bothered with the distressed plea of thier lower level nubs.

I'll continue working on my 51 Rogue so that I can raise her to lvl 60 and I can run some of the cooler instances, but my lvl 22 Troll Rogue is by far the more fun of the two at the moment. I'm about ready to leave the Barrens into Stonetalon and when I do I'll be entering a contested zone which means that my happy a*s is open to anyone who wants to take a stab at me. I'm sure it'll get interesting from here on out. :3

So, if you're ever interested in starting a Character on a PvP server Y'sondre is empty. Catch me around if you decide to join the more laidback of the two races. I go by Zorn around those parts.
