Hi everyone, I was just wondering if there were any other Terry Pratchett fans here and what you all thought of his writing style?

I find his books (Discworld in particular) fantastic - a mix of humour and serious life comparisons. And I think as Terry Pratchett is getting older his books are maturing, and covering darker subjects with a much darker humour than previous books. Yay!! :anime:

I like his books a lot. Especially the Science of Discworld and Good Omens with Neil Gaimen.

He's okay, but not one of my favorites. I enjoy his writing, but I have a hard time finishing his books. I loved Good Omens and Witches Everywhere! (or whatever that book is called), but I didn't care for The Last Continent. I hear the Vimes books are good though. Hey, did anyone else notice that GO had a lot more plot than his other books? Must have been Gaiman's influence...

and well, good omens was meant as a stand alone novel, so of course it'll have more plot ^^

lol, yeh the comments rule! :p BB have you read Nannys cookbook?
i have to say though, i love the Vimes books the best. He's such a sarcastic and dark character, with an anti-authoritarian streak that i relate to soooo much... :anime:

    Death and Ridcully.

    my favorite quote from Ridcully:

Ridcully leaped out of bed as he heard the noise and the bed moving around and he thought one thing, "There out to get me.!"

Thats basically how it goes, when I find the book I'll put in the real quote.

Its all about Quantum. *nods in all knowing way*

I like Terry Pratchetts books. although I haven“t read any others than Discworlds, but they are funny, and The Reaper is a good character.

Terry Pratchett Is one of my favourite authors, despit the fact that at least three of the books have VERY SIMILAR plots,

Even so Pratchett has enough humor to get away with it

I too shall own all the books (even the ones he's started writing for kids) Thankfully I live in the UK so I don't need to import hardback, hehehe.

I havent read them all yet but i've read most of them

And the coolest thing He and gaiman are friends, thats soo cool, In american gods Gaiman was stuck for details, and pratchett got him through it while they were on a train,

Hmm I think I'll make a Gaiman thread

    See ya later
