Here’s a puzzling question. If Inuyasha can wield tetsiaga because he is part human ... if testsaiga was created to protect humans (his mother specifically) ... then why won't it transform for him when he is human? Think about it, if the sword was created to save inuyasha's mother, what good could it have been for her if it doesn't transform for humans?

I think it's because it is also ment to keep his full Demon self from comeing out.
It also doesn't transform for any other humens, and Full Demon can't hold it.
So....I think it take both his Human nd Demon form for it to transform.

first off, Inu Yasha's mother didnt weild the Tetsusaiga, his father did (which actually doesnt make much sense as his father was a full demon, the ruler of the western lands. but then again it is made from his own fang. so perhaps he had the ability to weild it himself). its a demon sword and requires a demons blood to tranform. not to draw from but it need to sense demon blood to work. but it cannot be transformed by pure demon blood. also it seems that if perhaps Sesshoumaru had a care for human life he might too, be able to weild it. currently he weilds the Tokijin and the Tensaiga. odd that his father leave him the sword that can save a hundred lives with a single swing. a Katsujin Ken.

also just as a note cause im a freak, but its spelled Tetsusaiga if im reading correctly the "tsu" is silent. so it would be pronounced "tesaiga" i may be wrong but as far as i can tell the "tsu" is small meaning that its not pronounced.

The actual romaji spelling (regardless of what Viz says) is Tessaiga. The "tsu" is small, and because of this doubles the consonant sound immediately following it. You have the same thing in Sesshoumaru's name, which is why Viz's spelling of Tessaiga annoys me...if they're going to be consistent they should pick one way or the other.

Regardless....you have to have human blood to be able to touch Tessaiga, and you have to have demon blood in order to be able to transform it. That's why Sesshoumaru had to put on a human arm in order to be able to hold and wield Tessaiga.

I don't believe that Inutaisho ever wielded Tessaiga himself. He made Tessaiga and Tenseiga exclusively for his sons.

Toutosai mentions in the anime that
Inutaisho gave Sesshoumaru the tensaiga and
Inuyasha tessaiga so that if the brothers ever fought neither could win. This is demonstrated when inuyasha unleashes tetsaiga's full power and tensaiga saves Sesshoumaru's life. :) Also, Inutaisho may have gave Sessshoumaru tensaiga in order to teach him to love, more specifically perhaps humans, like he himself had. Either Intaisho had it all planned out or maybe I'm giving him too much credit and Sesshoumaru simply got tensaiga only because it chose him. :catgirl:
