Are there any animes you just didn't get? I have a few...
Ghost in the Shell, Puni Puni Poemi, Darkside Blues, A wind called Amnesia, Lady death, ect...

GITS always seems to confuse people because towards the important parts, It gets boring, and you tend not to pay attention.

Puni Puni Poemi is the OVA to something...But I don't know what, So not knowing confused me....~_~

Darkside Blues is my favorite movie...But god was it odd. It was so Martin Scorcese-ish, and has this gothis theme, while being futuristic and mutational at the same time....

AWCA was about this wind that erased the memory of all those in the world, and brought them back to their primitave beginnings. It was sad, and I enjoyed it, But in the end, it had an alien conspiracy plot....Not a favorite, and It didn't fit.

    Lady death is just blasphemous.....BLASPHEMOUS!!!

Which GitS are you talking about? GitS: the movie? GitS: Innocence? GitS: Standalone Complex 1? GitS: Standalone Complex 2?

Puni Puni Poemi isn't supposed to really make sense. And it's an OVA of Exel Saga...which...*also* doesn't make much sense.

Confusing animes I find tend to be most interesting... it engages your mind to think and reconstruct the story, (unless you're stressed out) it is often better than spoon-fed storylined animes.

Take Evangelion and Rahxephon as examples... Anyone who admits understanding them fully the first time round is probably not speaking from heart. Both of them were pretty much 'WTF is going on?!' for at least the first viewing (or at least for certain parts of the show).

Rahxephon - which I thought was better than Evangelion, was a bit tidier in its story unfolding presentation so it wasn't so headaching working out the inner meanings... Unlike Evangelion, until now I wouldn't say for certain that I understand every element of its story... nonetheless they are both great.

I wouldn't say I have any animes in mind which I am totally bemused by. I tend to search for the meaning from some other source if watching it time and time again has no effect.

Lain was somewhat "wtf just happened" type of anime at first. Same goes with FLCL but the more you watch them, the more you will understand it :)

And yes, "wierd" or "deep" animes are the ones that are the best.

No. I can't think of any. I usually get the gist of the story by the time I finish watching it.

Akira almost went over my head, does that count? And Lain was pretty bizarre almost to the point of bland.

i think the only anime i ever got was Kogepan. Uhh, I think i got it...

i would say if you think you got an anime, it means you missed somthing, probebly even the dumb ones ( but i dont watch those). i just go along for the ride... i dont care if i get it or not.

Lain was confusing since i watched it halfway through and picked it up 3 months later. Excel Saga made no sense...it was really random and the scenes were all over the place.

Good choice on that, trust me. You saved yourself valuable time. Unfortunately for me, i haven't heard of it bacl then, and was curious enough to watch it. Lain as well, is something that i think unless I (or someone else) had the courage to watch it four or five times with subtitles just so you can tell what's going on, I don't think it could be understandable......ever.(All in my opinion of course)

Sigh. I saw GitS:Stand Alone Complex, but I got quite confused, I stopped watching. It seemed as if everything were so slow I didn't get anything all the more.

To tell the truth, I have a few Animes I find unclear. Like, for example, Wolf's Rain. It was pretty incomprehensible to me. Well, that might be obvious, because I didn't try to bother understanding the story and all. A few dialogues put me off.
