At least more boys stuff is coming back…

Now only two animes are on 4Kids TV; Magical Doremi remains, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Mosnters debuts. One Piece and Sonic X have been pulled (I assume because Sonic ended…right? o_O And is One Piece still on Cartoon network? XD;; ) and Tokyo M-I mean, Mew Mew Power is no where in sight. It also appears Pretty Cure-which 4Kids recently licensed- is no where to be seen as well. (10$ says it’ll come in January )

    Any opinions?

Oh and to see my full opinion on Capsule Monsters go to the YGO forum, cause ypu just KNOW I’m gonna have an angry opinion on it…

No one is safe until the last nail is finally driven into the 4Kid's casket. I'm just glad this round of debautchery wasn't so bad.

    Amen brother, amen.

I reckon Pretty Cure is coming after YGO CM, because appartently CM is only 12 episodes. :/ But then that makes the ratio of girl and boys shows off again at 4Kids...maybe they ahve another boy show in mind...and I wonder how long that Viva Pinata thing is....

Ugh... I haven't watched sydicated TV in so long that I didn't even know the term "4kids network" existed. Makes me wonder if this is the next decline of anime in America. It's probably for the best if it is. Better for it to never make it here than for it to be butchered beyond recognition on arrival. Card Captors my #@$^ing *%$! Never forgive. Never forget.

The butchering of anime certainly won't stop furryb. They still ahve Pretty Cure up their sleeve and they most likely will start to lisence othe rpopulars that come around. They may just cotninue doing YGO spin offs if they think they can get away with it and continue to milk the franchise a la Land Before time. But, let's not tlak about YGO....there's tlak about that and my extreme anger in the YGO forum ¬¬

What i'm msot concerned about is Mew Mew Power. WHAT happened there!? I'm a firm believer in 'finish what you started' and thanks to 4Kids, Tokyo mew mew is so mashed apart that even if another company picks it up, they'll have to stay with the changes 4Kids made to avoid confusion with the younguns you used to watch it. The least they can do is tell us why they dropped it, but noooooooooooooooooooooo.

And 4Kids still believes that anime doesn't apeal to an older generation and that manga is never gonna be a big thing over ehre anymore cause ya know, Kids don't read. (Alfred Kahn said that too, that kids don't read anymore. taht was his reasonign behidn manga never gonna make it big here). Obviously kahn is a blind fool, because manga is doing quite well and is introducing children to reading once again, and well done translations. Say whatever you want abotu Tokyo Pop and Viz, at least they (usually) keep everything the same, like names and Japanese culture.... (but Viz is startign to stray from that path...*looks at the new YGO graphic novles ¬¬*)

But then again, 4Kids live son a totally different planet than the rest of us...

And you think anime is declining in the US, you haven't seen anythign until you come to canada. The only channel that has anime, YTV, used to frequently show anime, every day during their day time programming...YGO used to be on twice a day (which, even I admit, was a little much xD) and the people at the 'Zone' couldn't wait to go and cover Anime North and post clips on the station. But now, the onyl time there's any anime on is friday night...there's very little on Saturdays and Sundays even. They're not even endorsing the animes they egt with commercials. rather they have a ton of really stupid cartoons, canadian and american which are just...ugh... (Captain flamigo sucks). The onyl time YTV is worth watching is Friday's Bionix, especially now that FMA is on. >.>
They're trying to ween off it, and I'm really disappointed...

Yes, exactly. Meanwhile in the Graphic Novel (a.k.a Comic Book) Market...

Does anybody remember what FoxKids did to Escaflowne, once upon a time? It's been going on for a while and as long as kids continue to watch, it will continue for a while yet. God bless fansubs. Even the worst is still light years ahead of 4Kids.

Was it REALLY Foxkids that did the dubbing there? I'm seriously wondering if it was Saban that dubbed it, because people like to speculate that escaflowne was canceled on FoxKids because they saw the rest of the series and dropped it, but up here in Canada, the whole series broadcasted from start to finish, and it was the exact same dub. o_O

God, compared to what 4Kids does, Dic were a bunch of angels. xD

It wasn't that the dub job was lousy, it was that they crammed 2-3 episodes into a 30 min timeslot (to include commercials every 7 minutes). They edited it so bad that fans of the series were left crying in the rain, while new comers quickly became lost in all the plot holes and apparent happenstance. I havent seen the original DVDs, but I hope that they at least kept the plot unedited.

I'll have you know that i quite like Winx Club, and i'm 17. compared to some girls shows as of late, Winx club is pretty good. However it's really just a rip off of W.i.t.c.h. :/

    actually, little 10 year olds and such watch Bratz and Winx. (and that's 4Kids' intended targeted audience). You just don't understand because you're male. :/ i can say the exact same thing about G.I. Joe, but I'm a girl, hence why I'm probably not intrigued by the theme of the army... xX;;;;

It's funny. I always thought the age bar would be closer oriented to teens and young adults in general by now. It worked for video games. Of course that was apparently just wishfull thinking. Just to check, has there been any anime on Fox or WB where they didn't cut out the guns, blood or serious romance? The miraculous disappearance of all the guns in One Piece, Yugioh, etc. still baffles me to this day.

no. xD Their network standards don't allow it anyways Fox doesn't allow any children's shows to have smoking, guns or alcohal in them....and probably some other things to...X x;; WB I imagine is the same.

TMNT pwnifies everything. xD even i gotta admit that. xD

Bleh, I just never saw what was so great about G.I. Joe. :/ feels weird to see it back, but then again everythign si coming back nowadays... Strawberry shortcake (uh, I'll admitt soemthign you all, right now i am wearing a starwberry shortcake T-shirt with pride. xDDDD), Carebears, He-Man, etc. unfortunately they've all been ruined but... ¬¬ I'm just waiting for Rainbow Brite to show back up. xD

I actually like the New G.I. Joe cartoon. It's not as great to me as the old one...but that's more of a case that I grew up with the original.

As long as Snake Eyes stays silent, all is excellent.

And yes, TMNT pwns everything this side of anime. Until Grimlock comes in and squishes them with his mighty Grimlock-Foot.
