Anime the best and worst in anime

there are cool characters and bad characters in anime/manga. I want to know who you think is the most stupid character ever in anime/manga, the weirdest, the most funny, the most pretty, cutest, most ugly, most annoying, most heroic, meanist, loving/caring, and mysterious person to ever be created. ok here I go. . . *cracks knuckles*

Agreed. This is not a debate.

Stupidest: If we're talking about actual mental capacity, I could cite any number of dimwits from Rumiko Takahashi's comedies - Kuno, Ataru, etc. (Ranma ½ and Urusei Yatsura, respectively).

Weirdest: I think I've gotta agree, Haruko (FLCL) is pretty high on the weird scale.

Funniest: Possibly Ayame Souma (Fruits Basket) - I ended up not liking the series much, but Ayame still cracks me up. It's in the flounce.

Prettiest: Dilandau Albatou (Tenkuu no Escaflowne). Don't deny it. XD (Had to plug mah favorite somewhere, right? And the shoe does fit.) Griffith (Berserk) and Ayame are close seconds.

Cutest: Assuming we're talking "adorable" cute, Dio Eraclea (Last Exile) as a child. Griffith (Berserk) comes second place again - and if you don't know why, read the manga. His semi-chibi confused expression that turns up once in a while is such a huge contrast to the tone of the series, and it makes me squeal. XD

Ugliest: Any number of muscle-bound shounen/seinen series characters spring to mind. (All Dragonball series, Grappler Baki, etc. for examples.)

Most annoying: I don't think I can choose one. If a series has a mind-numbingly annoying character in it, I usually stop watching. XD But off the top of my head, Millerna Aston (Escaflowne), Kagura and Momiji Souma (FruBa), Yui (Fushigi Yuugi), Insector Haga/Weevil Underwood and Anzu Mazaki/Téa Gardner (Yuugiou/Yu-Gi-Oh), etc. etc. etc.

Most heroic: Luciola (Last Exile). Possibly a strange choice, since he spends much of the series just taking orders and following Dio around obediently, but what's more heroic than putting the happiness of someone you care about above your own desires, feelings, and

Meanest: Tied here. For female characters, Delphine Eraclea (Last Exile) - because she places her own whims above the lives of thousands of people, including her own brother, and has absolutely no remorse for it. For males, Litouten (Saiyuki), because of the way he shamelessly uses and manipulates his son Nataku just to further his own ambitions. He's even willing to

force Nataku to kill Goku, his only friend, just to prove his absolute control over the boy, and to make sure that Goku did not jeopardize Nataku's position as the only one of the gods allowed to kill.

Most loving/caring: Another tie. For females, Tohru Honda (Fruits Basket) - for obvious reasons, if you're familiar with the series. For males, Luciola gets another nomination, for much the same reasons as listed above. He may seem emotionless, but it's painfully obvious in later episodes just how much he really did care for Dio.

Most mysterious: Perhaps the God Hand members (Berserk), Sora (Escaflowne: A Girl in Gaia - Esca movie), and to some extent the entire Guild from Last Exile (since we learn very little about them, really).


EDIT: I just realized who annoys me the most at the moment: Caska (Berserk). Why? Because she could've been a really cool, strong female character - except that she apparently needs a man to define herself. UGH.

Even after she stops idolizing Griffith as much as she does early on, she turns around and is all over Gatsu - even SHE seems to realize on some level that she's using their relationship to define herself, rather than being able to stand on her own, given her thoughts presented during their love-making scene. She also basically tells Gatsu that initially, she couldn't accept herself as "a woman who couldn't take her eyes off of" Gatsu because it would make her feel like her life up to that point had been a lie (because she'd been living for Griffith). It would have been so much better if, after Griffith was out of the picture and she was leading the Hawks, she had discovered her own strength - instead of promptly requiring Gatsu to pull her back from the brink of despair as soon as he shows up again. e_e Not only that, but in the manga her role eventually deteriorates to being little more than a magnet for near-rapes.

What a waste of what could have been a perfectly good female lead.

 

Stupid: Gourry (Slayers, I'm surprised he remembers his own name! ) Actually, I can't think of anyone else right now.
Weirdest: Excel Excel (Excel Saga, no further explanation necessary.)
Funny: Hanagata (Saber Marionette J, why? He's Hanagata)
Pretty: Cherry (Saber Marionette J) As many people now know, I am in love with Cherry. So it's obvious that she is my favorite, eh?
Cutest: Cherry (bet you all saw this coming, eh?)
Ugly:
Most annoying: Hmm... Probably Shippo (Inuyasha), I'll have to check on it.
Most heroic: Mamiya Otaru (Saber Marionette J) (Savior of Terra II) Again, I can't think of many people right now.
Meanist: Hess (Saber Marionette J, Evil B*****d who... (Spoilers drowned out by random loud noise)
Loving/caring: Cherry
Mysterious: Xellos (Slayers) (Come on, just listen to his quote!) (Sore wa himitsu desu. (That is a secret))
