Naruto The Curse Seal (spoilers ahead)

spoiler: you won't understand any of this anyways if you haven't read past chapter 120ish so why read it?



well even in the anime.. Orochimaru said he didn't want Naruto anywhere near Sasuke because he was slowly changing him from wanting revenge and being full of hatred (a tool for vengeance) I'm not sure the curse seal has anything to do with Sasuke being a future host body for Orochimaru's soul. Since, Oro also did it to Anko during the 2nd Chunin Exam in the Death Forest (Forest of the Dead?) I don't think he wanted Anko's body. He probably assumed Anko was too weak to endure the seal and would die (lovely parting gift) For some reason that curse seal can make you be possessed by your own anger and hatred.. Orochimaru is proably just preparing Sasuke to be a mindless minion for himself for a few years before using him for his ultimate purpose. We'll find out in the future I guess.

maybe that seal is also an entry way for Orochimaru's soul to get into the body?? since that blonde umm. 'guy' showed a cursed seal as well and said 'look, you aren't the only one Orochimaru has set his eyes on' anyways. even Kabuto or whats his name was offering his body. are they freaks? lol I bet all those people we saw in the shadows in chapter 198 have curse seals as well.

 

I believe Kumiko's near the right point. Jiroubou and some of the "SEAL Team" (Bad pun intended) don't look like they're gonna be candidates for Orochimaru's new body at any point in time.

I think he uses it to power up those that he deems "worthy", like he did to Anko when she was working along with him. She did say that the seal was part of her past and all that.

But, for certain individuals, it's obviously to capitalize on them being candidates for new bodies for our ever-elusive snake-person. Sasuke is an obvious target.

Edit: We find out that the cursed seal members have to "die" once, soaked in the power of the fully opened seal to bring out all the power afforded to them. So, under the controlled circumstance that Sasuke faced in the 190-ish chapters...he HAS to die. At least a little bit. =P

 

actually, Orochimaru wanted Itachi's body, but he made a comment that Itachi became too strong for him to even handle and consider it anymore..
Orochimaru needs a perfect body to remain immortal and wants the Sharingan ability, which Sasuke possesses so he can continue mastering every single jutsu that exists. To do so, he needs bodies so he can remain immortal to accomplish his task (it is important to have the sharingan to master jutsus more quickly and some jutsus that cannot be done without the sharingan ability)..
Orochimaru is using the fact that Sasuke wants revenge to make Sasuke stronger. Since Orochimaru already has control over Sasuke, at his weakest, when Sasuke becomes stronger with use of the curse seal and training, Sasuke will kill Itachi, this is what Sasuke wants, Sasuke hasn't thought further ahead to "What happens after your revenge is fulfilled?" like Kakashi asked him. Since Sasuke will have nothing else to live for, this will be the perfect time for Orochimaru to take over Sasuke's body. That's what I know.

 

If that is true, then Sasuke would be the new threat to Orochimaru. Thus speaking, who'd kill Sasuke, if he ever bends Orochimaru's will back to his own? Sasuke's being played for a sap, BIG time.

As for Sasuke clearing the way for Orochimaru, I think it's the other way around.

Orochimaru put the seal on Sasuke to make a definitive path BACK to Orochimaru. The seal leads Sasuke to him, because Sasuke craves power enough to destroy Itachi.
