    Let me tell you a story. It's about a ghost who had suffered much in his life.

    The ghost used to dwell in an abandoned house. He never got out. He was scared of the living. No, he was scared of not being seen by the living. He wanted to be seen. But, he knew this wasn't possible.

    But one day he found out that there was a place where he COULD be seen. Other ghosts he knew had tried it, and they liked it. So he went to the place.

    There were some like him, and a some that were not. It was impossible to tell the difference. What was this magical place that gave them life? Was it the paintings in the walls, of things that made them remember they once were, alive?

    He wanted to speak to someone. But then he found out the sad truth. He was still a ghost. He wanted to talk, but the people didn't hear him. Or had he talked in the first place? He was shouting, but his lips didn't move. His mouth made no sound.

    He was devastated. His invisible heart was crushed. He just wanted to disappear and dwell in his abandoned home. Nobody would know he existed - nobody would care for him.

    He was about to leave, when he stumbled upon a living person. The person shouted at him briefly, and he said "sorry". He helped the person with her stuff. And then he vanished again. Then he tried to talk again, but he couldn't. What kind of evil had accursed him? Whenever he wanted to be seen, he couldn't.

    The ghost left for his home, floating among the gray invisible world, listening to the whistles and blows of the industry-filled town.

    He wondered, where would he meet real people? When? How? That knowledge was beyond his nature - nothing he would do could make that possible.

    He looked at himself in the mirror. The cursed mirror spoke to him, calling his name. A name he hated all his life and defined his ghostly nature. He couldn't get rid of that name.

    He knew, that if he managed to find his true name, his accursed name would disappear. He would resurrect, finding living people, and be happy.

    But everytime he looked at the mirror, the mirror called him by his accursed name.

    Nerd.

    This is so sad, definitely.. very lonely and isolated from society... nicely written and really heartwrenching ;_;

    I feel that "ghost" is only figurative, ne?

    Wow, Rick. That was impressive. I can really feel the pain of that "ghost." It does seem to me like a figurative name, too. I'm willing to bet that this is how you feel sometimes?
