Creative Writing The Great War of Mirth

I have been working on a novel. I so far have a lot of things done. But when it comes to a novel set in your own made up planet it can get a little tricky. I needed names, places, and etc. But it is all for fun.

I do have the prologue done. The first chapter is almost complete. I'll post that once I am done with it.

This novel is called The Great War of Mirth: The Rainbow Princess. I plan on doing more novels probably three.

Introduction

I came up with Mirth buy taking Earth and adding a little twist of my own. I actually had something completely planned out but some how I forgot how I got it.

On Mirth there was one continent it ended up breaking into two. They are called Panland and Mangia. If anyone knows their history they know that the super continent on Earth was called Pangea. I took the Pan part and added Land after it. I then took the Gea part and switched it too Gia (liked it better I guess) and then I added it to Man. I considered Man walks on Land for that part. I guess you can say that I am kind of creative.

Continuing on with the story, Mirth is filled with numerous and wonderful creatures. This will be brought up later in the story. In chapter 1, you will be reading about Lord Vantigo's plan to save Panland. The Prologue gives a brief history of Mirth. So read on all.

Prologue

There once was a Great Kingdom located on the planet of Mirth. The Great Kingdom had a marvelous King. By his rule peace and prosperity swept the land. It was a utopia for the people of the Great Kingdom.

The time of peace didn't last long. Legends say that the Gods were furious because of how united the land was. They thought that the Great Kingdom united would end their power over the people. Legends also say that the Gods made Mirth shake and the land crumble into the sea.

The havoc created split the Great Kingdom into two. Legends say that the two separate pieces of the Great Kingdom thought that the other half perished into the Black Tempa Sea. Both not wanting to offend the Gods renamed their new Kingdoms with this Mangia and Panland were born.

Legends further state what exactly happened to the Great King. They proclaimed that he was so devastated by the new change. He tried to stop the land from splitting by jumping into the Black Tempa Sea. The Great King was lost in the waves. He was never seen again.

The Great King and Kingdom were gone. In time the names of the Great Kingdom and King were lost to the people of Mangia and Panland. It was now a legend told to children at bedtime. The Gods returned to their own legends and lures.

In time peace and prosperity once again swept the Kingdoms of Mangia and Panland. Prosperity brought the ability to walk above water and to harness the power of the mighty winds. The Great Ships were built to explore Mirth.

Panlandian ships were the first to cross the Black Tempa Sea separating the two Kingdoms. Mangia opened their hearts and home to their long lost family. Finally the two Kingdoms had a chance at a long awaited friendship. The friendship that was so easily formed between the two Kingdoms forgot one important thing called trust.

Within a few months dirty trades and money hungry kings and lords brought an end to the friendship between the two Kingdoms. With trust lost hate formed in the eyes of the people of each Kingdom. Both Kingdoms made laws to forbid trade and contact with the other Kingdom. Love was instant death for anyone who fell for another from a different Kingdom. No one would admit to being from another Kingdom except for the one they lived.

Centuries passed without contact between the two Kingdoms. The Kingdoms no longer flourished. They each reached their own darkest hours. All hope was lost for Mangia and Panland. A risky plan from Lord Vantigo of Panland could save all the people of Mirth or destroy them. This is where our story begins.
