Anime The Greatest Anime Tragic Hero

Which anime character in general do you think is the greatest tragic hero?!
That means he dies in the end, because of mistake he made.

 

Actually, not all tragic heroes die in the end, just most. The definition of a tragic hero is a heroic character with at least one "tragic flaw", or flaw of character that makes them less heroic, and usually is the eventual cause of death.

My personal favorite would have to be Princess Tutu, also known as Ahiru. Her entire struggle, indeed her existance itself is entirely because of her love of Mytho. Unfortunately, if she were to ever declare this love to him, she would disappear in a flash of light.

Also, her pendant is a piece of the prince's heart, which she is destined to completely return to the prince. Because this is what allows her to be human in the first place, by the end of the 25th episode, she has returned to her true form as a duck. I'd say that's a form of dying.
