Video Games The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Did anyone get this game? I did, and I love it to pieces! ^_^ It's THAT much cuter than Ocarina of Time, and THAT MUCH a companion piece to OoT. It's like OoT's sequel, I'm telling you!! And it's SAD! (So far, anyway.) And it's pretty. And that's all I'm going to say unless someone points anything else out.

Oh, yeah. The Command Melody is just about the niftiest tune you learn. ^_~

 

I have it, but have not played it yet. My friends tell me that the reason they did not get a GameCube and this game is cus you do not play as Link, you just dress up like him and than end up having to be the hero in this game and having to save your sister. Plus he said something about that you are mostly in the water or ocean, but I don't believe him on that point though. Well, I will just have to play it and see if I like it. I know it is the game that got my dad to one of the next generation consoles (GameCube, of course), but he has always just played the Nintendo systems.

 

You do play as Link of course...but it's celshaded.
It's also true that you spend a lot of time at the ocean...
And the original mission is to save his sister...but later, things change.

Although, I don't own it, but i've heard a very good review 'bout it.

 

Im not getting that game... I've seen pics of how it could have been made and they made it into a pissy cute cartoonish sissy adventure (my opinion) and I really hate em for it

 

Unfortunately it doesn't come out in Australia until May-ish (what are the bets that gets revised to December) but I have it on pre-order so I can get the other games too. I talked a friend into pre-ordering it too!

 

Hell yeah, atm i agree with that. I know someone who was skeptic before he got it... (about the celshading) but he loved it after he started playing it....

Anyway, i'd say: don't judge a game by its appearence. In this case, the celshading. Try it before you say it.

 

i got it too and i love it! I especially like it when you put him against the wall and his eyes go side to side!!!

 

One of the greatest games of all time. I haven't had this much fun in ages, it has the PERFECT, and COMPLETE feel Mario Sunshine missed.

Anyone refusing to play it because the graphics are too mature for their own good and should steer clear, way too much actual gaming for you to handle.

"Oh, I'm not playing FF7 because the in-game characters look like little babies."

It IS one of the greatest games, and the graphics are just DAZZLING. Not to mention the gorgeous soundtrack. And the plot... If you've played Ocarina of Time and were wondering what could happen if Ganon DID come back, you MUST get this game! It's that simple.

The celshading is perfect for the environment. It's magical. It's not meant to be realistic. They said, somewhere, that it "immerses the player into Link's world." If that isn't true, then the SOUNDTRACK immerses the player into Link's world.

Actually, it IS Link. A reincarnation of him. I read that all Zelda games are pretty much that -- reincarnations of Link and Zelda. It's just the way the story goes. The back of the game case says it, too.

And if the graphics aren't those "WOW! SO REAL! WOW!" kind of graphics, they are the CUTEST damn graphic's you've EVER seen. I mean, his expressions are the cutest! Get him to lift something up while facing you -- his eyes go wide for a few frames.

This is definitely a game you CANNOT take at face value. (The weapons are really cool, too. ^_^) And have you seen Link when you've become another character for a while? He's like, all meditating-ish. ^_^ Looks so cute I could glomp him.

i just wish you could speed up ocean travel.
that is the only thing i would change.
i think it is a cool and good and fantastic.

 

Ah, so some people, other than me, like Wind Waker! This is a most interesting discovery. I shall do research.

Ahah! Jus' playin'. I really like this game (and every other LOZ game. :anime: ) because it has an interesting plot, awesome graphics (any of you belittle the graphics I will hit you :anger2: ), and an amazingly LARGE (that of course being an understatement) world. But my personal favorite LOZ game has to go to OoT. This set the standards for future Zelda games, and for the rest of the gaming community. Mr. Miyomoto (sp?), I take my hat off to you.

But yhea its great, a well done sequel for the 64 games. I put it as my third fave Zelda game( 2. Orcarina,1. Link to the past)
Those who just spit on it because "it looks cutsy" are pathetic. Besides its much more like old school Zelda.

 

I can't stand the way people dump on the graphics for this game :anger2:

It's nice to know that there are people on this board who appreciate the game, let's face it LOZ has never had a really AWESOME plot, because it's not a plot game it's a gameplay game. And let's face it the cel-shading lends itself really well to the overall feel of zelda.

Is there a post for the new zelda yet??

it looks like they've taken graphics only slightly better than ocarina added the battle system from wind waker and added a few tweaks to the game...

Personally, I -dont- like "Windwaker." I prefer the more realistic kind of games. Except "Animal Crossing." Now thats just addicting. xD

But the graphics were nicely done, but I'm not fond of the cartoony-ness of it all. It just doesnt appeal to me.

 

i love the game, its probaly my favorite one out of all the games i have. im just having trouble passing one part of it
